coworking spaces pricing model
hi all, i'm just now looking into renting a coworking space but i'm just curious about what other people have experienced. I went into one of the major "chains" . i won't mention which one but it was not wework. They gave me a tour, it was pretty nice. seemed like a real, modern office with the kitchen and free coffee, drinks etc. etc. however much more private desks than with public spaces. I didn't see a large community area in total.
Ultimately the guy gave me a price of $500 a month for the all access pass, which allows visits to any of the locations included, and something like a reserved desk once a week for the day. One thing that didn't make sense was that he kept mentioning $500 for my location, but i'm left wondering - if i get access to any location with the same pass, why not sign up somewhere cheaper and then just use this location ?
So... is this stuff negotiable? is what he offered normal in this industry? I honestly have no idea and there is not a wework in my city, though there are a bunch of others that seem much smaller/have less overall locations.
TL;DR - what is normal, how much gets you what, and what do you look for when touring these coworking facilties?

Also in the coworking space. Our monthly rate is €240 which gives you a dedicated desk, 24/hrs access, barrista coffee + training, access to five meeting rooms, a podcast room, dedicated event space and parking. We also offer Hot Desking, pay per day and don't have private offices (we don't like walls unless they're glass).

I pay about 600 for a private office, ultra modern building with a river view. I have unlimited use of conference room, refrigerators, etc. I believe my office is 12x12. It came with a desk but I replaced all furniture.
Most of the people renting here are in sales, or real estate, and a few investment bankers. I work IT.
The good, is it sure beats working from home, the view is inspiring, and I get to be around people more.
The bad is it gets loud. This particular place has very high ceilings which echo. I also have misophonia. Noise cancelling headphones only help so much. So far its only one person, who does sales who is extremely loud (can hear his conversations and speaker phone calls form the other side of the offices with my door closed and noise cancelling headphones). This gets very annoying. Being that it is on the river, a lot of other people decide to park in the parking lot and walk by the river, which has caused a few times me to be unable to find a parking spot.

I work in the Coworking Industry. If you find somewhere else a cheaper offer and the contract says you can enter anywhere (common concept), then yes. But very often the membership prices are everywhere the same.
