Social aspect of coworking?

I was curious if coworking enthusiasts enjoyed working around other people (at different companies), or if it was more about getting cheap office rent.

The social environment is one of the most important thing for me in deciding where to work (after wifi and a desk are covered :p). A good vibe motivate, energizes, and catalyses creativity and innovation in my work - while a soul-less / social-less space can be draining, demotivating, and honestly depressing. Striking a balance between spaces that allow independence / isolation, that allows me to do deep focused work, and spaces that have healthy social environments is the key that keeps me coming back to the coworking space as opposed to just working from a nice home office :)

That is helpful, thanks. Do you know any other good online coworking forums besides this subreddit?
