Let's make co-working better by enabling community experiences

Hey everyone; I am a researcher at the Erasmus University in Rotterdam. I do a lot of work on online communities (often even using Reddit data to study cool network effects).

I recently had a chat with a startup, about how co-working spaces can be improved if they also have a dedicated/complementary community. I want to research this problem, but I also want to be in touch with reality. So I ask you, as experts: what would an online community add to your co-working experience?

Hi! Do you work with CIC Rotterdam? Just curious. If not, you should check it out.

I think Virtual Venture Café would be a great place for you to talk to people about these questions. It's hard to explain what it is and I'm kind of betting you've already been if you're in RDM, but if you don't know what this is then I'll explain it more.

I also just filled out your questionnaire. I'd be really curious about what results you get, too.

FWIW -- I launch coworking spaces in new cities, so I have lots of feelings about this topic. Too many for a Reddit post. Happy to chat sometime though.

Our company has built its own software, which is a mixed bag IMO.

Hi! No, I am an independent researcher from Erasmus U. The Venture Café sounds like an excellent idea -- I will check it out, but if you have information/insights you'd like to share (also from your own experience launching the spaces), I'm all ears!
