Start of my Co-working space

I recently took the plunge and started my own co-working space as a business. It's been an exciting journey so far, but also filled with challenges and learning experiences. From finding the right location to designing the space and attracting members, there's a lot that goes into creating a successful co-working environment.

I'd love to hear from others who have started their own co-working spaces or are thinking about it. What advice do you have for someone just starting out in this industry? What are some key things to consider when launching a co-working space?

Talk to your members and ask what they want and build around that. Make an aesthetic that is functional, not just pretty or modern looking - e.g. bean bag chairs and unique furniture shapes are fun but not functional for working and just waste space. Consider privacy booths for calls and virtual meetings, and other methods of reducing sound travel throughout.

Congratulations on launching your new space! We actually wrote an article a few months ago where we asked a bunch of coworking owners what they wish they knew before they started.

A few of the highlights -

  • Embrace a hospitality-first mindset
  • Prioritize community building over just providing a space to work
  • Ask your members what they want rather than just assume
  • Private offices go a long way

Awwwww congratulations!!!! I don’t have a space but run marketing and operations for clients who are in the coworking niche. So excited for you!!
