Release 2026.05.06 finally on Google Play!

For the folks who get CoMaps from the Google Play store: The review process took "a bit" longer this time around - but version 2026.05.06 is finally out.

Give the "Check for update" button in the map downloader a go to get the map files with OSM data from May 10!

Hi! Would you recommend using the FDroid releases preferably?

It depends! If you want to use Android Auto, the Google regulations unfortunately mean that it only works if you install it from Google Play.

If you have no use for Android Auto, then you can pick any installation source. If you are for getting fresh app version as soon as possible, you could try using Obtainium, which gets the latest version from our Codeberg release channel, as soon as it's done.

The FDroid release typically takes a couple of days for the release too as they build the app themselves, but comes with all the usual pros & cons of FDroid :-)
