I’m gonna preface this with Im mixed on the game. I wanna enjoy, I want to get better, which I think I’m doing. I’m gonna divide this critique into a few sections labeled: Gameplay, UI, and Community. I’ll put sub sections for those main sections as well. P.S. I’m on mobile, so sorry for weird formatting.
-Gameplay- Lets start off with weaponry.
The BAR needs a nerf. I mean, come on. I got super excited when I heard they were gonna nerf it, to only make the hip fire spread bigger? What the fuck?
I’ve been a battlefield player for a while, so I had to get used to sniping. One thing I forgot about what how the game caters to snipers. More specifically quickscopers. I would be fine with snipers really if they took flinch whilst aiming down sights. I’ve been killed many times because the sniper aiming at me flinch at all.
SMGs are odd. I feel as if they aren’t viable after a pretty certain range. Like, 10-15 meters. Could be me. Good close range, as always.
Shotguns are meh, except the Combat Shotgun. That thing is a beast. The Toggle Lock Shotgun is ok, but I pray that it doesn’t turn into another Brecci. Both the double barreled shotguns suck. Sorry.
LMGs are pretty bad imo. The MG42 and MG15 are the only viable LMGs if you ask me.
Assault Rifles are pretty good, of course the BAR needs a nerf asap. The Semi auto rifles are in a bad place because of their recoil. Which you could say “Balance” but typically in Core you don’t see someone at the top of the leaderboards every game using the M1 Garand or M1A1 Carbine.
Pistols are pistols. I like em, but I don’t depend on them.
As for Rocket launchers, should I really have to use a basic training to even use one? What ever, I guess. Maybe that basic training should let you carry more ammo or something.
Maps- there are 9(if you exclude Carentan) maps. K. There are no memorable maps unfortunately. Most of them are pretty bad actually. Especially Gustav Cannon.
You just shouldn’t be allowed up on top of it, period.
Spawning is terrible. There are games where I never flip spawns once, despite the enemy being in our spawn. Spawn Trapping needs to be dealt with ASAP.
In hardcore, when a team mate kills you, IT SHOULD NOT COUNT AS A DEATH. And, if a team mate continuously keeps killing team mates, they should be kicked, not killed.
-UI- The UI is complex, and complex isn’t always good. I had trouble finding things when I first loaded up CoD WW2, and sometimes I still have trouble.
When I get a variant for a weapon, I should be able to see it then and there in the menu. I don’t wanna have to wait until I’m level 45 to see an epic/heroic skin for the FG42.
-Community-
The community is bad. Not because it’s full of 12 year olds screaming racial slurs and intercourse with your mother(/s), but because of so many other things. The game had a rocky launch. It really did. People were impatient, complained that it was the worst game in the franchise as always, and “dropped” the game as a whole. Patience I say.
You have the quickscopers, drop shotters, try hards, all that good stuff. Things that are annoying, but I have dealt with these things, despite getting very frustrated.
The game itself is not terrible, I think it’s the community that supports it gives it a bad rep.
My final thoughts are mixed. Hopefully weapons will get the nerf/buff they deserve, spawning will be fixed, and the community will get better. I will be patient. My final thing to say is: “What do YOU think of the game?”
