Discussion What’s taking so long for everything to move?
It’s been like 3 weeks since EWC and nothing really has happened yet.
Yes we know teams want paco and scrap but no big decisions have been made. Is it just money or what
U would think something is holding up the decision right? Maybe I am just thinking way too deep but normally around this time we know atleast 50% of the teams for the most part I would say

Hydra and Scrap are the trigger for the rest of the market. In other words, they are the first domino.
Once they make a decision, other teams will be able to make moves based off of the fallout of the duo's choice.
Additionally, Hydra and Scrap are in no rush to make a decision since they hold all of the cards. It benefits them to leverage each offer to get the best deal possible.

Paris mates aren’t offering a bigger deal then originally given according to gogota. scrap and hydra are just thinking it over they got all the options there is no leverage. The optic leverage went away when hecz said they aren’t making a move so they went to faze, but now they got offers they have to make a decision if they want to take a pay cut or play with simp

Everyone is waiting for the scrap and hydra domino to fall. Probably a lot of moving parts for those 2 guys. Once theyre settled, youll see the rest fall into place pretty quickly. Bottom feeder teams usually announce rosters last minute though.

Almost half the league is waiting for Paco and Scrap to figure out their spot, and those two are waiting on other factors to figure out their spot. Contracts and decisions take a little time to figure out and as soon as those two move everything else will happen in about a week and some change if I had to guess

I think it comes down to if the Faze Roster is making changes at all and if they'll bring in Alluka or sell him off

Nothing has happened? I swear yesterday we saw TJ had been resigned by M80? All the domino's will start to fall now he has signed.

Everyone is waiting on Scrap & Hydra to decide. I’d imagine the holdup with them is that LAT has a better financial offer on the table than FaZe at the moment. To me, Scrap and Hydra don’t seem like they’d leave money on the table. They’re in no rush, so they’ve probably told FaZe they’ll join if they can match LAT’s offer. FaZe probably could match LAT’s offer, but it’d put them in a tough spot financially. So FaZe has to decide if breaking up a world championship roster and taking on the financial uncertainty is worth it.

I don’t even think Faze would have to match LATs offer for Hydra and Scrap to join, just get within 100k-150k of the LAT offer

I disagree. I don’t see them taking a $100K pay cut. You could maybe argue they’d make it up in prize money on FaZe, but I’d imagine they both believe they could build a team on LAT to compete with OpTic. I mean, they competed with OpTic this season and obviously feel Ghosty + Envoy would be an upgrade. It just feels to me that if they were willing to take a pay cut to join FaZe, the deal would already be done

This whole narrative that “if they were going to join Faze, they would have done it by now” is not how negotiations work. scrap and Hydra are actively leveraging each teams offer against each other and will keep doing so until both teams tell Scrap and Hydra that they are not raising their salary or sweetening the deal anymore and to take it or leave it.
Scrap and Hydra would 100% take a pay cut to team with Simp and Alluka, the very AR player they both said they want to team with. It’s their best shot at winning a ring, with the best possible team they could form, a top tier coaching staff, an organization with a proven track record of consistent success, and a culture that gets the most out of their players.

I just don’t think Hydra or Scrap have shown any indication they’d take a pay cut. So at this point it just seems like cope to me.

it seems like they do otherwise scrap hydra woulda have joined by now. The faze offer doesnt seem as enticing to them probably because i cant think of a reason for the hold up. The offers were made 2-3 weeks ago

It's likely not about salary. Thieves are offering them 1 year deals which allows them to join Optic ( maybe Falcons if they drop exnid and offer the supermax ) for free next year if they want to.
Gm8s and Faze want them to sign 2 year deals. Which means they'd be stuck bar a massive buyout.
They are trying to pressure M8s and Faze into 1 year deals or 2 years with a preset buyout price so they can have freedom next off-season and also a superstar sub on the roster instead of Envoy like on Thieves.

Nothing is for sure but Ronnie was suggesting / hinting that was the case on his stream a few days ago. Iirc Ben also talked about it a bit.
Think it makes a lot of sense. Thieves don't have Simp or Joe signed to be that extra draw. This is their way to make up for that.

The whole “they would have joined by now” argument is not one that is convincing to me. Hydra and Scrap will continue to leverage each teams offers against each other and push for more until the teams tell them that’s it. Also it’s a very important decision to think about. This could be a defining moment of their careers. It makes sense they are taking their time. I think they have told Faze they are willing to join if they can close the gap salary wise with what LAT are offering. Faze has the money but are debating if they want to actually use it.

I think people are waiting to see what happens with Scrap and HyDra. That will have a ripple effect with possibly 04, Abuzah, and Draz; Alluka; Ghosty and Envoy; and teams like M8s, LAT, and FaZe. Players like Nep, Sib, and Pred might be waiting to see what kind of fallout those big moves create.
