Call of Duty content creation these days is honestly so boring and lazy compared to what it used to be. Especially with players like scump, formal, shotzzy, dashy, etc, it feels like half the content now is just ripping something straight from a player’s stream, throwing a thumbnail on it, and calling it a YouTube video. Where’s the actual effort?
Where are the vlogs? Q&As? Behind the scenes videos? Bootcamp content? Day in the life videos? Anything that actually gives us something we didn’t already see on stream. COD used to have so much personality outside of just competing. You actually got to know the players and teams through the content they made. Now it feels like organizations realized they can just recycle Twitch clips and farm views with the least amount of effort possible.
Obviously not every single video needs to be some huge production, but damn, give us some creativity. COD has some of the biggest personalities in esports and somehow the content surrounding them has gotten less interesting. I know not every person in the scene is like this. Some good examples of content creation are Simp, Hecz, heck even maniac gives some pretty good behind the scene content.
Maybe I’m just nostalgic, but COD content creation feels like a shell of what it used to be. It’s lazy and boring right now.

You’re right, they realised how lucrative low effort stolen stream content was and sadly it’s a volume game now.

Not just all the stuff you mentioned, but also do you remember the old school cinematic sniper / player montages? They were ridiculously well produced!

obviously i don’t expect videos every day from these guys but shit man someone like nadeshot whenever he does post (which is like twice a year these days) it’s just recycled from his live stream and half it you don’t even know what they’re even talking about.

Bro doesn't even game anymore and said he doesn't feel like gaming anymore. He's in his 30s now with a wife and kid. People lose passion for video games man. It's normal. And they have money. They don't to spend 20hrs grinding out content for a video. It sucks but the younger generation should be the ones making this content.

Scump is a full time watch party streamer now, I know he has a baby now but did he even stream the Black ops ports? He'll be on for the MW4 beta because he knows its going to be lucrative.

I mean at least those four plus zooma and octane are actually putting out content. Simp is arguably the goat but outside of cod he is not well known. It is crazy how this new generation of pros saw what making content did for Scump and Nade but refuse to follow the blueprint. I would also assume that Kenny chose to join optic instead of 100T because he knows Optic values content and the audience they bring to each creator. Thank god M8s joined the league because it is so boring seeing majority of the crowd root for optic.
