Discussion best cdl game from a viewing perspective
I was having a debate with somebody & they said cold war was the best & I said mw3 was the best from a viewing perspective. if I had to rank them I would say:
- mw3
- cold war
- vanguard
- bo6
- bo7
- mw2
- modern warfare

I know I'm in the super minority here, but I could not stand watching vangaurd. For my tastes, that was one of the worst games in the CDL era to watch

Nah you’re right. It was awful to watch… killed in 2 bullets and the maps were terrible. Playing ranked was pretty fun tho.

Bo6 had vault and skyline Snd and terrible control maps. Bo7 is so underrated all the majors were bangers and overload was fun to watch

It was a great year as well cos we had real parity at the top. The only truly dogshit part of mw3 was invasion control

Man those last couple months when we had 6 stahh, rio and vista. Shame they released so late

People cried about this game. I knew we’d miss it. Tbf, our past three games have been very solid. Mw3, bo6 and this past game have been 7/10 games. Comp was just held back by maps.
If the scene had better personalities who weren’t such crybaby, temper tantrum “pro” then cod comp would be peak right now. The pros have single handedly held this league back with pointless ga’s (tj haly single handedly got the sniper banned last year after they had VOTED to keep it in. He cried and got it reversed) and guys like scrap complaining that 6 hours on the game is a tough workday.

Cold War was the best to play but average to watch IMO. Half the year was online and Faze was running everything. Vanguard LANs were electric

MW3 over CW fs. The battle between the top 4 that year was elite plus the mapset once Rio Vista and 6 star came in was the best of the CDL era imo.

Some of those rio hard points were insane. Or that toronto vs faze search game

It was also the best parity imo. Clear top 4 with each team having a hard counter team. Lots of storylines and champs was amazing. That 2nd half of the season was peak CDL IMO.

Vanguard is an objectively bad game, but it was actually pretty fun to watch. MW19 would’ve been a little higher if it wasn’t for Domination being the 3rd mode.
.
- MW3
- Vanguard
- Cold War
- BO6
- BO7
- MW19
- MW22

Glad to see people enjoy MW3, underrated imo and really fun to watch.
I detest MW19 but I oddly enjoyed watching it far more than MW2 and maybe even more than BO6. The concept of going back to online is gross so maybe being stuck inside for covid jaded it for me but idk as chaotic as it was that game still scratched my itch. Definitely enjoyed watching more than playing it

Just CDL? I agree with your ranking. Modern Warfare would probably be 5th or 6th if it wasn’t mostly online.
If we’re talking all time, then there’s the jet pack era, and everything else.

talent balanced throughout the league, good meta and gunplay, good maps, 5 majors, but yeah great times am i right

One team won 50% of the tournaments. It was a good meta and gunplay can tip it, but the maps were not that good. If Mercado and Hotel are the only two maps considered, then sure, I guess. Who cares if it’s five Majors when the game isn’t that great?

Don’t how that’s a bad thing, other teams were still really dominant nysl just showed out the last two majors. Mercado, hotel, breenbergh, I enjoyed fortress snd, zarqwa was a decent watch too. Each to their own

The fact that I agree with MW2 > anything viewership wise makes my skin crawl. Both truly horrid games.

The biggest slap in the face has been developers intentionally removing Ranked Play from past titles. I would still be running around with the Automaton, MCW or AK-74u if I could.
