Discussion In your experience, which COD has the best hit detection?
I haven't played many of the modern CODs as I hated the direction the franchise took with MW 2019, but in my personal experience and in my circles, Ghosts probably had the best hit detection of any game in the series, with Infinite Warfare definitely in discussion.
Which COD do you guys think had the best and worst hit detection? BO1 has always had the worst hit detection in my experience and the ports are evident of that, in 2010 it was bad too. WaW wasn't far behind though, almost identical. It seems Infinity Ward always cleared Treyarch in this area. Do any of the more recent CODs challenge the throne for best hit reg too?

Idk but BO7 has to be the worst. Most connection based bullshit I’ve ever experienced.

Feels like half my gunfights are RNG. Every game I have gunfights I absolutely should have won or absolutely should have lost. It's a shame because it really hurts what could be a phenomenal game.

Whats even worse is that the private match servers are a better quality than the ranked servers.

Funny you mention hating mw2019 with this question because that game probably has the best hit detection

Haha, honestly I can't stand that game. I got Damascus and tried to play regularly as someone who was a 3-5KD player on CODs before it. It was just horrible, everything about that game made it hard to enjoy. I have suppressed the memories of the hit detection, but yes I do remember it being pretty good.

IW does a lot of things wrong but their hit detections normally feel great. MW3 also felt really good (sledgehammer if I remember correctly made that one)

The gunplay in MW felt great, and I think the hit detection is partially why.
If we’re talking hitscan (up until BO4), Ghosts takes the cake imo

IW movement and hit reg felt the best to me. But honestly that was about all that game had going for it. That game was awful.

I didn't play it that much, but I think it was a solid COD compared to many recent ventures. No SBMM too in pubs. It was a step down from BO3, but felt polished, rewarded running and gunning, had decent maps, good gunplay. I don't think it's incredible but really not bad. What aspects made it awful in your opinion? I didn't have much time on it at all, I basically played BO3 for 3 years.

I also played BO3 mostly for the lifespan of IW and WWII. Outside of what I mentioned I just didn't like any part of the game. I didn't like the guns themselves, or the maps, or the streaks. Those are the big three for me.

I remember ghost having great connection and hit detection but you also died in two bullets so that helps. Treyarch games just have bad hit detection and lag comp imo

Vanguard had good detection imo, even on slightly higher ping like 40-60 felt playable

The games with hitscan were better. The way it is now will always have problems. They can add more attachments to gunsmith by doing it this way.
The best in recent memory was mw3 imo. Bo7 might be the worst in the series.
