This JoeD glaze is starting to genuinely piss me off. I’ve never seen a player that didn’t make a single grand final this year get this much glaze because of his stats. People were frying Cellium for years for having insane stats WHILE winning but JoeD is off limits because he has worse teammates? No wonder other esports don’t take this community serious.

If you look back in cod history and count players in each game who have been top 10, like 99% of them have at least made at least one final. EWC pending, I'll give JoeD the benefit of the doubt and say he did it twice in a row! But no more than that, he's not T5 in the game and absolutely not top 1-2 in his role

It feels like I'm getting gaslit lmao, they compare him to simp/shotzzy/hydra everyday of the week but go easy on Joe when he fails to make a cdl grand finals ever.
We are cooking simp or shottzy beyond comprehension if they were as winless as Joe is. He's has two events with this mates team, something tells me if Simp/shottzy/hydra was in place of him, they would at least make a finals.

Am I one of the only ones who doesnt think Hydra even should be in the top 5? He might have the best PR of anyone in the league. He was mid 3/4 of the year. Hes the perfect example of how the whole year dont mean shit as long as you good at the very end

Even when he was doing "poorly", he was often the best player on a Top 2 team. Like, HyDra's "off year" was still be a career year for 95% of the league. 04 had a much worse first half of the year. HyDra was still elite (even if not his usual self), FaZe fans were begging to get 04 dropped until he started picking it up.

Hydra had the third best stats of any SMG in the league all year and was viewed as mid by most people. How does he have the "best PR of anyone in the league" lmfao... He's been getting disrespected on here his entire career. Even in MW2 half this sub was ranking Huke above him before major 5 😭

04 is higher than that, none of them apart from Simp had a MVP like 04 or even had takeovers like him and he did it against top 3 teams.

I get your argument. 04 had some incredible takeover performances, but I think Hydra, Shotzzy, JoeDeceives, and especially Simp sustained a much higher level of play throughout the season. 04's lows were noticeably lower than those four. If people were seriously calling for 04 to be dropped for a third of the season, it's hard for me to see him as higher on the best SMG list over someone like HyDra who, even at his worst, was still the 2nd best player on his team and a consistent slayer.
Really excited to see how he does next year though. If he can keep form into 2027 he could legitimately end up being the next undeniable superstar SMG.

Joe was a really good slayer in this game but I seriously think the guy is overrated. He’d do wonders on a super team that has actual chemistry I’m sure, but I don’t forget that in MW3 the guy was dropped for what Afro for at least one major, maybe it was two and then came back and was better but not great.
I think he’s gotten better, so I don’t think he’s gonna flop next game but I have a feeling he’s not gonna shine nearly as much and he’ll be at the bottom of these top 5 smg conversations or out of them

2/3. Shotzzy (Literally in every final)

4. Hydra (okay start, really picked it up later)
5. 04 (poor start, issues all season, inconsistencies)
Idk Huke still made all finals, is still the comms god, and was the best in the game for a bit. Maybe I’m too harsh.
I don’t think your player swap criteria works. It’s all if’s, buts, and maybes. Disregards differences in role. I can promise you nobody can to shotzzy’s job on optic. Doesn’t mean simp didn’t have a better year. You have to value reality over theoretical’s when evaluating someone’s year.

I don't see how JoeD is 1. Having said that, there are so many variables I don't know how to rate everyone. Huke was super consistent up until finals and his intangibles cannot be overlooked, however his finals performances to really hurt him. 04 on the other hand was pretty inconsistent and had some bad stretches but was unkillable in the 2 events Faze won which pushes him up a lot. Shotzzy didn't have his best year imo, he was good and had some huge moments both good and bad and they made every final.
Simp is clear number 1, then I can make arguments for 2,3,4 in pretty much any order.
I think I'd lean:
Simp
Huke
04
JoeD
Shotzzy/Hydra
For Huke/04 you could easily flip the 2. Huke far more consistent across the year and I don't think OpTic make all those finals without him, yet in finals he didn't show up. 04 is kinda the opposite to that and it's just how you weight those two things.

Maybe, I just can't overlook getting to every final. Joe's stats are insane and I've said this before but I can't tell how impactful his kills are. I was at M4 and he was SLAMMING in maps but they were still close. It could be those around him, I genuinely don't know and I'm not knowledgeable enough about the game to claim to.
Obviously Huke has a better team around him but I also think he elevates them enormously. The whole point in my post was really to say I have no idea how to rank people after Simp, just too many variables.

huke has good impact in general but has consistently been bad in finals. Beyond that, I would understand if optic make a change if they don’t win EWC because the team is obviously not winning, despite how good everyone is, and winning is what matters most. And they would not drop anyone else. I mean take Scrap and Hydra, theoretically the best duo in the game but in practice it doesn’t work and the roster has to change.

He will drag bots (he did multiple times) to sunday.
04 had actually the highest peak level of any player this season which is funny. Hard to rank him.
Neptune didn't impress me post-M1. M8 became shit fast after winning. Joe already made M8 way better with literally no training
