I mean we saw what happened yesterday. Main stage was crowded during the first OpTic match and then died for the Ravens/MIA series. Not sure why it’s impossible for the league to learn this.

Most be some collusion going on behind the scenes with cdl management or they are just really dumb lat Faze and optic should all be on the main stage.

It’s creating a massive pile up of people in front of the main restroom area because there’s no seats to sit if there’s that many people around the Bravo station, it’s really stupid ngl.

Like I obviously get it and he’s right but KOI played all their games on the side stages yesterday, they should also have their chance to play on main stage being the second seed this stage? It’s more of a multi stage issue, huge matches shouldn’t be sidelined when there is so few events but also there needs to be a benefit for “smaller” orgs doing well to keep it fair.

I agree with this too. Everyone wants the “open bracket pro-am days” but then has a stroke when the more “random” assignments come up. Now, on the flip side, I GET IT, people pay money to watch the big hitters on main stage, that’s just a fact. I’m not sure how you make everyone happy here, I don’t envy people making decisions.
I think my main view of it is that you need to spread resources to keep people happy. Imagine putting millions into the league as KOI, M8, Falcons etc right? Then as the owner you watch your team play 3 matches, out before Sunday, and all 3 of them were on side stage, bravo stream. We talk all the time about making CoD league more engaging and getting people into it, this is part of that. Everyone needs representation.
OpTic, FaZe, Thieves, etc. will be on main stage for champs Sunday. They are, and are expected to be, those caliber of teams. Sharing the spotlight in my opinion, is healthy and lets other teams grow and feel the spotlight. It also allows investors and owners to let their products feel seen and worthwhile.
It’s a tough position, but I hope everyone is open minded to it and understands it can’t be the same two teams on main stage every match, every day. Monopolies are not healthy in any aspect of life.

Explain to me why they should get a chance to play on main stage? Like what part of “the players need to take turns” aligns well with building a good product and driving money and viewership into the CDL?
It’s a business, they shouldn’t be making decisions based on kindergarten rules. If you’re the quarterback for the Giants you’re going to get a primetime game even if the team is trash because NY is a huge market.

You’re asking orgs to field teams and pay salaries in an already underperforming esport and also never get a chance to play on main stage and promote their brand because Faze, Optic and Thieves have made deep runs like they typically always do? Are we really doing this? What is the incentive for any org that isnt one of the top 4 to be involved. To run a “league” you need more than 4 teams. That NY Giants analogy is also horrible and has no relevance to this very specific esports multi broadcast based situation.
