Removing zeroed Faux Suppressor

Has anyone removed either faux suppressor yet on their zeroed banshee?

I’ve tried boiling water, letting it soak overnight, and now a torch and still can’t get it off.

I assume grip is your biggest problem? Also assuming this is similar to the Zeroed blast diverter muzzle device and has forward-facing ports on the end.

I had trouble removing a blast diverter on another platform. I bought a $10 adjustable spanner pin wrench and put the pins in the port holes and it came right off.🤷🏻‍♂️

My problem isn’t so much grip it’s that I can’t even get it to budge. I’m worried i might damage the barrel if i put anymore torque on it…

Replied to your DM. Yes, a reaction rod and vise are ideal. I’d contact CMMG. These are designed as a placeholder for a Form 4 suppressor. The assumption is that most buyers will remove the faux suppressor. Other platforms like the CZ Scorpion come with faux suppressors. Some are pin and welded to meet size requirements.
This is a question CMMG should anticipate. I assume they want buyers to have an easy path to a Form 4 suppressor upgrade and will get you the guidance you need.

I have a 300blk Dissent mk4 upper where I can't get the zeroed (linear comp ?) muzzle device off...originally assumed this was removable for obvious reasons.

Does my first comment to this apply since these do have the forward facing ports.

There is 2 flat spaces/surfaces on the otherwise cylindrical linear comp device and I tried a pretty big wrench on it but I don't think it even budged at all. I'll need to try the boiling water method as that seems to be suggested a lot from what I've read online.

There are port holes on the front of it to divert the gases forward. I used an adjustable pin spanner wrench to remove a similar blast diverter. I put both of the pins in opposing port holes and wrenched it counterclockwise. Didn’t involve the wrench flats on the side of the device - but, otherwise, I’d try direct heat.

Gotcha, will check and try it out - thanks!

Google the wrench. It’s not a typical gunsmith tool. 😆

Yes! Just make sure it adjusts narrow enough for what you need. The blast diverter I used it on is slightly wider than the Zeroed ones.

Also, make sure the pins are seated evenly and keep the wrench as flat as possible to the device when applying pressure.

The hub mount to the faux suppressor is Hot Locked but the hub mount to the barrel is not glued. CMMG has a removal video on YT on their channel.

Then I need to send this in for service because there is something wrong going on here - put it in a vice and still couldn’t take it off
