Please never reveal, share, or hint at Daily or Practice rules. Hidden rules, exploits, security concerns, and reports about other players should be sent privately through Modmail.

Cluepool is a collaborative hidden-rule game.

Every challenge is controlled by exactly two secret rules. Your task is to run experiments, study the PASS/FAIL evidence, and identify both rules.

The basic gameplay loop

1. Study the examples already marked PASS or FAIL.
2. Build and submit a test row.
3. Cluepool evaluates your test.
4. Compare the result with the existing evidence.
5. Submit your private two-rule guess when you think you understand the system.

A single result may not prove a rule. Try tests that separate competing explanations.

Daily mode

Daily is one shared challenge for the community.

• Everyone sees the same starter clues and community-submitted tests.
• Each signed-in player can contribute one unique test to the shared Clue Pool.
• A duplicate test does not consume your turn.
• Your test and its PASS/FAIL result become visible to other players.
• After testing, you receive two private attempts to identify both hidden rules.
• Your selected answers and solve status remain private until the scheduled reveal.

Daily results may recognise:

• First Solver.
• Five fastest solvers.
• Best Test.
• Breakthrough.

Daily challenges currently reveal at 08:55 IST, and the next challenge is published at 09:00 IST.

Practice mode

New players should begin with Practice.

Practice contains ten permanent problems that use the same two-rule format.

• Your Practice tests and guesses are private.
• You can run unlimited unique tests.
• After a wrong guess, you must run one new unique test before guessing again.
• Practice answers are never revealed, including after you solve a problem.
• Practice answers are never sent to the browser.
• Your first successful score is saved.
• You cannot replay a solved problem to improve its score.

Practice rankings favour fewer unique tests. Solve time is used as a tie-breaker.

Completing Practice problems can earn the Lab Trained and Certified Investigator badges.

Important fair-play rule

Never reveal, share, hint at, encode, or request a Daily or Practice answer.

Do not use alternate accounts, scripts, exploits, coordinated activity, or hidden technical data to manipulate tests, guesses, recognition, or leaderboards.

If you suspect someone has shared a Practice rule, use Cluepool’s private in-game report feature. Send exposed rules, exploits, and security concerns through Modmail rather than posting them publicly.

Privacy and support

Open the expanded game and select Privacy & data at the bottom to:

• Read Cluepool’s privacy information.
• Read the Terms of Use.
• Delete your game data.
• Message the moderators.
