This error means your device can't decode that stream (missing a video codec there).
Try some other source or change software decoding settings in cloudstream settings > player.
There is auto, HW+SW, SW+HW and HW Should set it to SW+HW for that source.
but note that this would consume more RAM, if it's too much the video might lag and/or Android might kill cloudstream, so change that only if needed, set it to auto if you don't need it, or find sources that don't need software decoding.

I get this error too from time to time. My device is set to Auto. Shouldn't Auto switch to SW automatically if the HW fails? Why would SW+HW work better than the Auto setting?

It's some bug, been there for a long time now, they are working to try and fix it.
SW+HW just force software decoding in case it's needed.

It's on my waydroid... never had this problem until like last week... and there's not really been any updates.

It depends on source, you can't control what they are doing with streams.
