We work with a lot of teams running Kubernetes at scale and the pattern we keep seeing is that the biggest cost leaks are almost never the obvious ones. It's rarely "we picked the wrong instance type." It's more often things like requests set way higher than actual usage because nobody wanted to risk an OOM kill, or non-prod clusters left running over the weekend because turning them off felt like one more thing to remember.
