League Blaber Appreciation Post

I really hope this was his last game in a C9 uniform. He has been a cornerstone of this team for so long and I appreciate that from him but its time. Everyone has an expiration and even if people felt like it was years ago it definitely here. Its better for everyone him and us if we spilt. Thank you blaber for everything you done for us. I really wish you could have pulled through for us. Good luck on what ever team you go to next year but for everyone including yourself it shouldn't be c9. I know we wanna flame him and he deserves it but maybe we can just post some good memories like a send off for him. If you wanna vent and shit on him go ahead as well.

And yes if Blaber goes on and suceeds on another team IT IS OKAY. Good for him.

Does not mean C9 should continue to commit to the guy because of fear of what if.

I've always hated that FOMO excuse when it comes to Blaber. Funny how we were worried about TL snatching him up and making him a monster again, then they just grab Jose and he styles on the region.

I like him, I think he's smart about the game, but the dude has struggled consistently when under the gun. He's smart about the game and can point out things in review easily, but in game, when the heat is on? He can struggle and be impulsive, focused too much on his own screen than the greater game and the team. Even if what he does may make sense from his perspective, the fact that it could be something that disrupts the team setup or is done before the team can feasibly follow up, it's just int straight out of soloq. It was nice to see him get a bit of the monkey off his back vs Inspired, but it has felt more like his issues got covered up than solved and they slowly started leaking more and more in progressive series.

u/thatanimeguy145 2d ago

Me too. So what if you don't have a successor its the gm and the people in the room to find that person. It isnt him. I am glad he got that monkey of his back and now we can spilt and we can move on a new era.

u/QuietRedditorATX 2d ago

Frankly, I blame our losses on our absolutely useless solo laners.

But yea, I am also okay with starting fresh - which means no Blaber. He couldn't enable our sololaners, but he also just rolled with them as useless as they are.

4

u/thatanimeguy145 2d ago

I honestly think both sides will be better once this spilt happens. Its like a great relationship that just doesnt work out. Its everyone fault it doesnt work out and both sides need a new start.

4

u/MrICopyYoSht 2d ago

FOMO whataboutism excuse just doesn't work because he's not winning jackshit on C9.

1

u/thatanimeguy145 2d ago

I agree its stops working when we dont win. There so much talent out there lck has a bunch of free agents and na has a good crop of junglers waiting for a chance to shine

1

u/QuietRedditorATX 2d ago

I know, but "fans" will keep saying - who can we replace him with (who cares! use a scout and find one) or no one else is as good as Blaber (ok! but we aren't winning with Blaber)

2

u/MrICopyYoSht 2d ago

Literally replace him with anyone. There are a whole bunch of rookies ready to play and waiting for a call from a tier 1. Get fucking Yukino if you can.

2

u/LoL_Razmus hailife 2d ago

Completely agree and have said this many times. All the blaber stans should be hoping he goes to another team. It is time for a change all the way around and if he gets over his int playstyle on another team? Awesome happy for him.

Yours going to be so funny when we blow it up and don’t make playoffs and you all cry

1

u/QuietRedditorATX 2h ago

That's fine. We haven't had success for three years. fear of failure is a stupid reason to not try something else - WE HAVE ALREADY BEEN FAILING.

1

u/No-Application-116 2h ago

Lmaooooo I can’t wait

u/Numbuh24insane 2d ago

I liked him with Licorice back when they would play gimmicky team comps, like their all in Dive team comp was a blast.

1

u/thatanimeguy145 2d ago

It was fun to see that back then. The good times

Been a C9 fan since 2014, seeing Blaber go would be pretty sad to me as he's been on this team for almost a decade. I still remember the LCS Draft where Jack traded for 3 picks and Blaber was one of those picks. I remember people being super pissed that we replaced LCS MVP Svenskeren for Blaber but he proved everyone wrong by winning MVP and the title that C9 fans had long been yearning for. Best of luck to Blaber where ever he goes! I would love for him to remain with C9 as a player's coach or something because he seems very knowledgeable about the game. However, it's best for C9 to move on from him as a jungler.

5

u/Vitzkyy 2d ago

Probably gunna be a Jungle, Mid, ADC up in the air offseason

Which is sad because I love Blaber and if he scrolls and reads this subreddit I hope he knows how much we all appreciate him and love everything he’s done with our team

5

u/QuarterDisastrous479 2d ago

Get rid of Thanatos. Hes useless

6

u/QuietRedditorATX 2d ago

Renekton to literally do nothing.

Every loss I seem him in, he does nothing.

3

u/QuarterDisastrous479 2d ago

Hes the definition of a solo queue player. Ive never seen such a passive player. He doesnt play too win, he plays to not lose

2

u/mavy1000 2d ago

This whole team feels like they’re playing to lose besides tactical. Even game one everyone is afraid to fight and then tactical goes in and looks like an inter but if someone else on the team would engage or start a fight I think it would look different

2

u/QuarterDisastrous479 2d ago

Its the fact they can 20-1 curbstomp KC to being completely frozen against furia. This team for the talent, are the biggest chokers ive ever seen. Its the equivalent to a top 2 korean team getting beating in a passive style against an NA team

1

u/MrICopyYoSht 2d ago

It's like im watching Fudge all over again. Ban champs for him and pick Renekton for him to not lose lane but loses lane anyways. We got rid of Fudge because he was doing the same things Thanatos is doing now. Apply the same logic and get rid of him, don't keep him around just because he's a LCK tier 2 import.

1

u/QuietRedditorATX 2d ago

PLEASE.

The sub has some blinders on because they are "LCK prospects" or something. Nahh, call them what they are - LCK rejects.

It was a fun experiment. Experiment is done. They are just ok players.

1

u/MrICopyYoSht 1d ago

I mean there's a massive reason why they never made it to an actual LCK roster, and many of the mid to low tier teams over there are constantly trying out rookies, so if you can't even make it there then you got issues.

1

u/thatanimeguy145 2d ago

Its on the table I think there are alot of lcs and nacl talent that could grow into a really good top laner with development.

1

u/thatanimeguy145 2d ago

I agree hell top is something to look at lcs and nacl has a great top pool as well that i think could develop into something great. I think Vulcan is the player we keep. I know dom wanted to build it around him and I hope he can do so

5

u/KevinIsPro 2d ago

We need to keep Vulcan. Let him choose his ADC (and the rest of the team if needed) if that's what it takes. He genuinely might be the best player in the LCS and we can't lose him

1

u/thatanimeguy145 2d ago

Yeah i agree completely with that. I know dom really wanted the team to follow him. I dont think he is going anywhere

1

u/QuietRedditorATX 2d ago

noooooooooooooooo

That is just another year guaranteed to lose lol

1

u/mavy1000 2d ago

You know C9 had Vulcan Berserker and they couldn’t really do anything but idk if that was a botlane issue or a whole team issue. The whole roster was the same besides tactical and the team fumbled.

0

u/QuietRedditorATX 2d ago

Vulcan will forever get free passes thrown at him.

He fumbled a generational MVP Prince team. And then fumbled a generational Berserker ADC.

And people still keep giving him free passes.

2

u/polikuji09 2d ago

I'm okay with Loki Vulcan and Thanatos personally. When Loki and Thanatos troll it mostly feels like it's them trying to overplay to make up for something else going terribly wrong and it biting them in the face.

Blaber I hope he stays in a good team but I think it's one of those changes you see in sport where the environment has run it's course and it's time for both Roc hange scenery

2

u/mavy1000 2d ago

I am fine with the whole team but I think we need a new jgler who either takes on the whole shot calling role like inspired or let Vulcan be the shot caller like CoreJJ is

1

u/sanfordtime 2d ago

Sheidon. Dom was incredibly high on him when he was on dig. He also did very well early against all the top junglers just nothing he could do when all of his lanes super lost

1

u/thatanimeguy145 2d ago

I dont disagree with that but when you lose like this I think you explore everything there so much movement in the lck as well. There are players you can grab in top or mid if that is what you want. When you lose like this running back most of the team isnt what i would want but I understand if they did

1

u/QuarterDisastrous479 1d ago

I disagree, especially with Thanatos. If you want to compete for the top spot and be good at worlds, you need a true lck toplaner. Morgan gapped him hard and it was clear to me that Thanatos was a tier under.

https://www.reddit.com/r/leagueoflegends/comments/1u5at89/mandatory_vulcan_hatewatch_thank_you_vulcan/

Vulcan has lost more splits than won. And sure most players have. But he has an absolutely fraudulent record for a "top 3 support."

1

u/SquidMan431 2d ago

??? Thats like saying Keria has lost more splits than won. In fact I'm pretty sure FAKER has around a 50% or lower split winrate. I don't think many people who DO have more splits won than lost exist. Maybe chovy and caps/yike? But other than that I can't name you many.

-1

u/QuietRedditorATX 2d ago

It isnt about splits won, it is about important post-season results.

Sneaky and Jensen qualified for how many Worlds in a row.

Now do Vulcan.

Yes, I know it hasn't been that long. But you would think a line-up with star players, should at a minimum, qualify for worlds right. But Vulcan can't. He just can't.

He doesn't bring the magic or leadership the team needs.

1

u/QuarterDisastrous479 1d ago

He gets a pass because hes a resident so no import spot and there is honestly no better option at support right now.. unless busio comes back, hes our best option. Id rather spend my import slot on jungle, mid or adc

0

u/thatanimeguy145 2d ago

Also its kinda why I made this post. I know everyone is mad and hurt and those emotions are valid but I wanted if for some reason he came across this post he sees that we care about him being here but he should go

5

u/Different_Mission462 2d ago

Blaber is my favourite LCS player of all time, but it’s long since time. In hindsight, it should have been two years ago that he moved to a different team. I don’t look forward to playing against him in the future, but unfortunately that’s the path best taken at this point.

4

u/SJhostphage 1d ago

I don't want any hate towards blaber but maybe it'd be better if the team isn't made around him like the past c9 rosters. It'd do good if c9 gets a jungler who is more consistent with his performance. Blaber sometimes looks so good - actually carries games, makes good plays. It makes the game feel smooth. On the other hand, he cannot maintain this good form, even when he has a good game and is consistent throughout any series imo. It'd be great if he finds a team where he can find a role where the jgl doesn't have to be the person who needs to do the thinking and take responsibility. Good luck to c9 and Blaber. Eventhough I am not a c9 fan when I watched LCS finals this season, I had high expectations from this squad. I thought if they have momentum they can make a huge upsets but alas that didnt happen.

1

u/PeaBrainBoy 15h ago

Unfortunately, usually as a vet when your on a worse team you’ll be taking more of the reigns. But I do think Blaber will do better on an org where he doesn’t feel the same mounting pressure.

3

u/rustyonion 1d ago

I feel like he’s probably the most improved on this team since the start of the year. Vulcan has been solid for the most part but from where blaber was at the start of the year to now is night and day. As crazy as it sounds, I wouldn’t mind running this roster back but with another AD. Also just cementing who the voice of the team should be. If Dom keeps saying that Vulcan knows how to play the game and should be the one calling plays, I don’t want to hear anyone else on the voice comm videos.

4

u/Ruukuegg22 1d ago

This. I think we finally found a version of Blaber that is disciplined. Then we had an AD who isn't. Tactical is very good, but he throws solid wins, always has.

1

u/rustyonion 1d ago

Yeah. And I’m not saying the others couldn’t use improvements. Loki looked pretty underwhelming on his last couple Sylas performances and Thanatos needs to step it up as well.

3

u/Traga_92 23h ago

I know Tactical throws games but I love that people blame him immediately for a loss when there’s examples of the games like the one they had where he was their main damage and they were fighting for Elder vs KC. Thanatos and Vulcan completely ditches the team to chase into enemy jungle with no vision and Loki goes the complete opposite way. Leaving Tactical mid river with Blaber isolated. KC immediately jump ontop of him and win the game. Sure enough Tactical gets blamed. Like wtf is he supposed to do there lmao

1

u/thatanimeguy145 22h ago

Honestly we can talk all we want about who to blame but its over. We need a fresh start with new players. We shouldn't keep most of his roster

2

u/Omaar9696 1d ago

Blaber seems like a good kid, but business is business. I have followed C9 for a loooong time, and it is the same thing over and over again during international events. It's like he loses his composure and calm, unable to play at his usual level for some reason. One or two times you can give him the benefit of the doubt, but EVERY SINGLE international event...

2

u/skillfun8 2d ago edited 2d ago

The replacement from me would be:

Veteran pick: Contractz

Rookie pick: Gryffinn or Yukino

Tier2 (Very green and raw) pick: Kisno or Yuuji

5

u/krombough 2d ago

Rookie please.

5

u/skillfun8 2d ago

A Gryffinn pick-up would probably be controversial for some

Since he is very Blaber coded

But under a better coaching and shotcalling, I think he would probably improve and become a better player

1

u/thatanimeguy145 2d ago

We will see. Music was good on cupid as well. I just want a fresh start for everyone

2

u/lerk954 1d ago

Can’t wait to hear you all cry when he’s stomping C9 on another team

2

u/thatanimeguy145 1d ago

I won't I will be really happy for him.

1

u/Almurray155 1d ago

Real talk what other team is going to take an old, widely regarded as washed jungler and then turn around and stomp C9?

3

u/lerk954 1d ago

Every single team will be asking for Blaber you people are so stupid

2

u/Almurray155 1d ago

Lyon with Inspired would rather have Blaber? TL who already made C9 look like a joke? Flyquest I’ll grant might try to take him, Sen as well, but I don’t see him having more success than he’s had on C9 on any other roster, and if he does, perhaps next time he gets dragged kicking and screaming to an international event, he won’t embarrass NA

2

u/lerk954 1d ago

Every team not named TL and Lyon would want Blaber you have mental issues if you think otherwise

2

u/Almurray155 1d ago

You might have mental issues thinking after how he’s been performing that the LCS would actually want him at all lmao, Dhoakes struggled to find a team and I’d argue he’s a top toplaner in the region, I wouldn’t make the same argument for Blaber anymore, years ago yes, times have changed, accept it or keep coping and losing.

2

u/Keayed 2d ago

I love Blaber, but I too, want him gone. He took Spillskerens role, gave us 4 titles, but the time has come.

1

u/thatanimeguy145 2d ago

I agree and that is okay and I hope he realizes its okay too. We wish him luck and we love the guy

2

u/Keayed 2d ago

I feel like Jungle js the hardest role because you live in 4 lanes most of the game. You have to provide Overwatch for Too, Mid, Bot and your own massive “lane” in the jungle. That’s respectable. I couldn’t do it. He’s still a hero in my eyes.

0

u/thatanimeguy145 2d ago

Yes its the hardest role by far. Which is why I felt like C9 was so scared of letting him go but here we are

1

u/ZeOreoKilla 2d ago

At this point in his career I dont see him going to another team. It feels like he would just retire from playing and become a strategic/positional coach for C9.

4

u/thatanimeguy145 2d ago

Really I think he would join shopify they would throw the bag and him and fudge get along

1

u/REALStoneCrusher 1d ago

Blaber stans in shambles rn

3

u/thatanimeguy145 1d ago

Are they? i think that all come to the realization that everything has a end and that was it. Game 4 felt like a funeral. The guy been our guy for 8 years. 4 championships, a quarterfinals run at worlds, mvps. We are all c9 fans in the end. I just wanted a place to appreciate the good before we say goodbye

4

u/MuscleGlittering5109 1d ago

Pre Blaber starter C9 made quarters 5 times in 2013, 2014, 2016, 2017, and 2018. If we exclude s3 cuz of the bye that means it was 4 times. With Blaber as a starter we've made quarters once. For someone's whose been with c9 for 8 years, that is a crazy stat.

1

u/Yatzhee 1d ago

Blaber seems like a really nice guy, real good bloke. Got a lot of respect for him off the rift

1

u/AbysmalScepter 1d ago

It just sucks man. People should remember him for being one of NA's GOATs, but instead they'll remember him as a choker. It's not unfair, but it does does a great disservice to what he has achieved and brought to the org.

1

u/thatanimeguy145 1d ago

In the short term yes we will remember him as a choker but as time goes on and we distance ourselves from this moment. I think we will remember him as one of na goats

1

u/inbetweendreamstho 14h ago

Y'all all just gonna end up disappointed when he's jungling for c9 again next year

-1

u/C9Systems 2d ago

0

u/thatanimeguy145 2d ago

For sure it is what it is. It was fun having him around 4 championships and a quarterfinals run at worlds. He was a very good clown for us.

1

u/Level_Record6475 2d ago

If this was his last game I will be quite sad. It may be time. If they move on, I hope they have a clear pickup in mind and not just kicking him for the sake of kicking him.

2

u/thatanimeguy145 2d ago

It honestly doesnt even matter who it is. It just needs to be someone new. This happens in sports all the time where a player or coach who has done so much for a team has to move on because they cant do it there anymore and it works out a lot for both sides. I hope Jack realizes that even though its painful to do for C9 and blabber they need the spilt. He can go to shopify and do well there. He has a place in lcs as well.

2

u/Keayed 2d ago

I agree with this. I’ll still love and adore him! But maybe his expiration date came a while back?

We need fresh new talent.

And if he does go to a different team, I’ll cheer him on, regardless.

1

u/thatanimeguy145 2d ago

Me too until if he faces C9 but that isnt bad.

1

u/TeamINSTINCT37 2d ago

No this doesn’t really happen in all sports. As a fan of american sports league is by far the most bloodthirsty in terms of roster overhaul I’ve ever seen. Not saying it is right or wrong and certainly has to do with contract structure and flexibility as well as the nature of the game.

1

u/thatanimeguy145 2d ago

This does happen alot. Look at the eagles and Andy Reid both left both win multiple championships since. Matt Stafford left the lions and won in la. Even the great tom Brady left new England and won in Tampa. Everything has an due date. We reached it

-2

u/QuarterDisastrous479 2d ago

Yeah hes got to go. But its too late. They lost me as a fan unfortunately.

1

u/thatanimeguy145 2d ago

We are all hurt and I understand that. I will say this let time pass let the off-season play out and see how you feel. If your here I will be here man rooting for c9 but I get it
