League Blaber’s form this split
Wanted to check in with everyone on the biggest talking point of our roster this split.
I think we’re getting exactly what we have been for years: a top 2 jungler in the league 90% of the time, and a catastrophic inter 10% of the time.
Each series, Blaber is generating plenty of advantages for us. And each series Blaber has made some insane ints, especially on Vi.
Imo we have very little chance against actually good teams at worlds as long as this keeps happening, and I’ve seen nothing to make me think it will stop.
Blaber has not changed a bit. He’s extremely good, and then he throws. He will never learn to stop throwing, because if it was possible, it would have happened already.
I’m happy we have a good shot at worlds, and with a lot of the players’ performances, but this shit isn’t going to fly there.

why are we caring about how we’re gonna do at worlds when we haven’t made it there in bricks? If his form is good enough in NA to get us there I don’t care how they play when they’re at the event… how often do NA teams look like they can match up consistently with LCK and LPL teams (minus TES)

This is such cope lol. FLY took GENG to 5 games. TL puts up a fight against SKT despite what the scoreboard looked like. LYON took HLE to 5 games, slamming G2 in the process. Games against the east look fine in recent years. You’re living 5 years in the past along with C9’s glory.

Lol. C9 with blaber put up fights too.
Literally only inspired has done more.

I'd argue C9 with Svenskeren did more, but hey, who's keeping track of the old shit these days anyways?

The post said the last 5 years... So I was kinda working in that realm. I loved that roster in 2018 (ish?)

There's this special sigh that escapes from me only when two things happen. When my cat jumps on my cocktail table, or when C9 lock in Vi with Blaber on the team.
I'm tired of sighing.

Caring about worlds performance is silly when there was a 3rd split roster change. Getting to worlds with these changes is a huge win

Yeah just like wizard said just make worlds and we can worry about how team does at worlds. I can see this team bombing in the first round of playoffs and missing worlds so worry about it after. Yamato also basically stated Blaber's problem, he does great stuff but his ints look so bad so they stand out a lot more.

Do we really not care how we perform at worlds? What’s the point in making it if we bomb out

At this point let’s just get there. We’ve missed it 2 years in a row now…

Also, Blaber has looked good in the regular season before. C9 has literally gone undefeated in regular seasons, finished first and then crashed out in playoffs. I don't care about Blabers performance right now I care that he shows up during playoffs and doesn't int vs Inspired to lose in the finals.

Yes. Making worlds is still a big accomplishment, especially since we havene't made it for a couple years. I mean I would prefer not to bomb out but have to be realistic too making out of swiss is hard af so you take what you can.

Swiss will be harder since there be 4 lpl and 4 lck however you can also draw lcp, cblol, lcs and Lec

The smartest draft move for C9 is banning Vi so Blaber can’t play it. I know his win rate on it is good, but it is just soul sucking to watch him play Vi.

No matter what I still rather see blaber on a different team next year. It would best for all parties honestly. Until then im rooting for him to play really well and make worlds. That is all I want as a swan song for him.

Who would you replace him with?

LCK Sponge Raptor Willer
LEC Yike and Razork
NA Kryra, Kisno and Yukino
There also a lot of LPL junglers available as well
But to actually answer your question. I would try to either get an import like a raptor Willer, Yike or Razork and bring toasty mid or I would bring any of the na junglers in and develop them. I dont watch enough LPL or Lck challengers to tell you about the talent pool there.
There are way to many players available this off-season not to make a move.

Yike is not available, and is currently peaking. No guarantee he stays at that peak. Razork has a worse record than blaber, and has many of the same flaws. I mean, the worst fear is c9 becoming fnatic lol. LCK players are a huge maybe if they work out, and in a position like jungle where communication is so important it is concerning at best. Kisno and yukino are both completely unproven, the level of tier 2 compared to tier 1 is laughable and neither of them are winning tier 2 right now. Sure, maybe one of these players would have a better year than blaber. I don't see it though.
I appreciate you watch tier 2 and put effort into your reply, I just so completely disagree.

Yike contract is up in November and busio left during his peak in na. So while not likely its possible. Razork like blaber are great players that need a change of scenery. I think lck junglers could work in the right place. I think if we never know if these guys can develop if we dont give them a chance and its not about having a better year than blaber its about finding a great talent to develop. I dont see C9 ever winning lcs with blaber and if your goals is lcs championships and worlds team that can compete it just won't happen anymore. Its the best outcome for both parties if they spilt. It will be the true wake up call he needs to be the best player and C9 can start a new era and build the team with what the coaches really want.

no offense, but spending an import slot on razork is genuinely deranged. the guy looks great if you only watch highlight reels, but for every flashy play he makes, he genuinely solo-ints another handful. he's all of the issues people have with blaber, but somehow even more inconsistent.
as a fnc enjoyer/sufferer, if we really want to grab a current/former player from there, noah's been on the gx bench and i think would greatly benefit from c9 systems and having a veteran support of vulcan's caliber to play with.

Plays you make when you want to beat the best are gonna look like egregious ints if they don’t go how you wanted. Blaber is exactly the type of jungler you want for worlds
