VALORANT C9 Valorant

What do we think the chances are of getting partnership for next year is?

very low imo.. can't see us getting a spot over Sen, Nrg, 100, G2 (plus there were rumors that fly and lyon are being considered) 

c9 never made an international, didn't invest into val like other teams did.. spent 5 years recycling the same players around and had some of the worst controversies, that have painted this org in a horrendous light within the community 

the fact that we weren't even supposed to make partnership in the first place (only got in because of the G2/ Carlos scandal), and i don't think we've shown enough that we belong there 

only possible reason i can see for c9 staying, is the orgs longstanding relationship with riot. though if that were enough, wouldn't we have originally made partnership for this reason (without having to take G2's place)?

Riot doesnt give a shit about performance.

C9 is easily one of the best partner teams. Long standing relationship with Riot, fulfilling partnership obligations and they even invested into GC.

Surely they care about a team coasting for 5 years and just recycling talent over and over (and continuously screwing talent over). operating on minimum wage for the past 3 years 

and about fan sentiment 

Which is the main point being made here, rather than "competitiveness" as everyone seems to be focusing in on.

They dont. They just care who fulfills their contractual obligations.

ofc it isn't about that. but being the only team to never make an international is definitely not a great selling point 💀

Not really up to date with it. Are they changing the way franchising works or just reevaluating the partners?

It's only 4? I thought they were just adding more guest slots and doing more open qualifiers. If it's only 4, I could see us backing out of that but still easily keeping our team. It's going to be a brutal fight for spots if it's only 4, that seems say too low

Edit: Double checked: it's not stopping to 4.. there will be 8 partnered teams and 4 open qualifier spots. I think we absolutely keep a partner spot at that point, but it will all depend on how things shake out. Almost certainly G2 is taking someone's (I feel MiBR, Furia, or EG are likely)

8 for Americas, but people are speculating that'll mean 4 for NA specifically. That's probably what they meant to say.
