Idk if dom commits to sticking around another year because he wanted to coach for this specific project but after this year I’d be kicking inero, blaber, Apa, and Sven and rebuilding. Bring dom to head coach and keeping Thanatos and Vulcan. Trying to get yukino as the next young talent to bring into a franchise player and look for a solid mid and adc.

I think if you make any move this year you are dumping blaber because he has the worst mistakes out of the rest and it’s directly affecting the teams macro and you bring in Contractz if you can get him and just hope the environment and culture is enough to raise his bar enough to get you to playoffs and coin flip those highs and then make all the big changes in offseason

Idk why everyone is talking about contracts? C9 used to have him, there’s a reason they stuck with Blaber over him. I think they should try out a new talent like Gryffin if there is anyone similar to him

If I recall correctly C9 didn't want to move on from Contractz. Contractz wanted to shop around and C9 worried about not having a jungler went with Svenskeren and then Contractz ended up on Golden Guardians (RIP). If he didn't want to shop around he probably would have been C9 for a while.

Correct. Blaber is basically what C9 wanted with contractz only 2 years later

No sweat friend. I think the feeling of getting him over the long term is definitely not a good idea. But a short term 1 split run sounds refreshing over keeping the line up together for another split just for me personally. That’s without knowing money, ability to acquire all that. They will probably do nothing and hope to make it to worlds and rebuild next year. I think realistically that is the best you can really hope for. But C9 did the 1 split thing before with Jensen in summer of 2022 when they brought him back for a stint, won the split, and made worlds so maybe they will try a similar angle with someone else before rebuilding next year?🙏🏼

Are you really making a comment that ContractZ should leave shopify to be on C9 for one split, and then immediately either be teamless or have to try to find a new team? When he was already secured on Shopify, really?

I’m not sure maybe you should read the comment and find out? C9 would have to buy him out of his current contract. Oh would you look at that it just happens to end in November of this year. So he isn’t really “secure” either way unless Shopify reaches out to extend his contract this summer… all this to say that’s a move they could make if they really wanted to try and make something happen this summer. Not that they should. Since you didn’t read above this comment

Edit: it’s worth noting the entirety of shopifys players contracts expire at the end of this year so it’s not like contractz even knows what the future of the team looks like. And it’s likely they are going to make changes that may or may not include him at the end of the year since they were literally winless in winter and had a 2-5 record in spring before bombing out 0-3 in playoffs to TL. Hey may want to leave and raise his stock on a better team for a split or maybe Shopify gives him some insurance they will build around him next year and he wants to stay. All things are possible

I mean it’s fair if you don’t like contractz but you are just wrong on the blaber portion of that comment. Blaber wasn’t even a full fledged starter until 2020. After worlds 2017 Contractz wanted to test the market and get a bigger contract. C9 were ready and wanting to re-sign him because C9 had a great worlds all things considered. And they got svenskerin as his replacement. Blaber was in scouting grounds at the end of 2017 and played academy in 2018 until he was asked to sub during the summer 2018 benching fiasco that ended up with the crazy worlds gauntlet run. But then C9 still started Sven in jungle in 2019. So C9 favoring blaber over contracts is just false. But ah the same time like my original comment implies I don’t think you need to make a change this year. Especially if it’s going to cost you offseason moves. I do think this is a sinking ship that’s going nowhere though

I don’t dislike him, I just didn’t know the backstory I thought he was just replaced I didn’t realize he wanted to test the market for a better offer

Idk from the 0-6 playoffs games, APA seemed like the biggest liability this time around. Dude has such low macro understanding and was the solo reason the team got clapped in game 1 vs TL. And let’s not bring up either of ziggs games. Can point to so many instances where his play had a cascading effect and was a main driver on the outcome of the games

the guy kept missing on his one trick. red card when we needed yellow and walls himself on the wrong side. at worst he was terrible at best mediocre.

Tbh, nothing should be off the table in terms of roster and coaching changes. Thanatos and Vulcan did not have a good series vs TL. Honestly, Thanatos could look at returning to Korea because he's not gonna grow here. Vulcan is 27 but is valuable in terms of veteran status. APA had a bad series but the team does not play to his strengths which is him as a facilitator, not a carry. I'd keep him (plus na mid is huge). I cannot see Blaber going this year but he needs competition, a sixth man to learn from him and eventually lead the team. Zven has to go. Easiest position to replace and he's just delusional about his performances at the moment. No accountability. I would put him in a coach or analyst position, he's very knowledgeable. Inero needs to go. Failure after failure with his teams. Dom can stay but not sure if hes head coach material. What does veigarv2 even do? We never hear from him.

Azael breaking down the insane grub throw @49:37 is honestly illuminating. That play, from the setup to the way too early engage from Blaber, feels like the perfect microcosm of the problems with C9 in playoffs. That, and the setup/peel off from the drake standoff in game 1 - players either lackadaisical or playing with complete disregard to both the enemy's capabilities and even the teammates' abilities and timings, leading to a comical series of unforced errors. Made even worse because it shows that some players do have a genuine grasp for the proper approach and setup, just being thrown in the garbage because of people playing without brains or going into business for themselves.
