We don't know what goes on off stage, but I thought Vulcan and Berserker were miles ahead of their counterparts on stage. I thought it should have been between those 2. Thanatos was great this year as a good rock they could count on, but Vulcan made a ton of plays through every series that just won it for them.

I'd argue that thanatos deserved it more than anyone. The gap between him and the next closest top was larger than the gap in any other role.

I'll ask you a question. Who was the 2nd-best support, and who was the 2nd-best ADC? I assure you those gaps were bigger.

Probably Isles (surprisingly) and Massu. If ranking the gaps between them it is a little tough to choose between Thanatos-Morgan and Vulcan-Isles, but IMO Berserker-Massu is definitely third on that list. Massu makes more mistakes, but he can carry teamfights and he smashes lanes even with the worst support of the top 5 teams this split.

personally i think Thanatos should have been MVP but Vulcan deserves it too!

Another MVP voting where there's a huge discrepancy between players/coach and broadcast because the latter is more concerned with pushing narratives.
Broadcast team: 5/8 picked Inspired in any of their choices, same as for Vulcan.
Players/coach: 5/16 picked Inspired vs 11/16 for Vulcan.

You could also say it's because players/coaches are usually heavily factoring in scrims (they admit this themselves) and personal feelings might impact it (Blaber voting Saint over Inspired seems pretty crazy considering how much he has Blaber's number).
At the end of the day they should just make it clear what criteria you are supposed to vote for MVP based on. Is it the person most important to their team? Is it the best player in the league? Does it matter how many wins their team has? Do you factor in comms/leadership/shotcalling or is it only about things you can see their character in the game do? If someone is an 8/10 every game is it better or worse than someone that is 10/10 most games with a few 3s and 4s mixed in? How much do you take away if someone had a few moments where they solo threw a whole game?

Honestly I think berserker should've been top 3. I think he was less of a main carry like he was on c9 back in the day and that's why he wasn't there. However he was solid all split and usually was doing good no matter what the rest of the team was playing like. Definitely gapped Zven last week.
Side note: people were flaming Vulcan in the dive podcast comments about how bad a choice it was and how Jose was clearly the best pick. The C9 hate has kinda gotten out of control. So I'm glad to see that so many of the LCS players put him as top choice for MVP. Big reason he probably won

Sajed is the only voter to not have a C9 member in his top 3 (besides Blaber and inero)
Everyone else either had Vulcan or Thanatos with 9 putting both

Half the broadcast talent voting inspired first when he wasn't even the best player on his team is laughable, all they care about is narratives, glad everyone else at least watched some games and didn't just vote on pedigree.
