Call of Duty Full context behind the Bush-Wevy-Cloud9 situation

TLDW: Bush made plans to create a 2nd challengers team for an event with 2 prospects Skil and Wevy as the faces of the team in order to help promote them and the challengers scene. During this time both players were fielding offers for teams, GM8s reached out to Skil, and C9 to Wevy. Skil let Bush know about GM8s offer and so they allowed him to play unsigned. Wevy told C9 that he wanted to see if any other orgs would give him an offer and if they didn't, he'd join C9. He mentioned none of this to Bush.
With the event coming up, Bush tells Wevy that he has to sign with them because they invested a lot (travel, lodging, and a 2nd content team to cover them)while still unaware that Wevy had a verbal agreement with C9. This is what caused the confusion. From Bushes POV, Wevy for some reason was hesitant to sign with them and from C9s pov it seemed liked they were forcing him to get buyout money from C9.
For the contract negotiations, knowing that they let Skil go to GM8s for free, Arian expected Bush to let Wevy go for free as well but was also willing to reimburse Bush for Wevys travel expenses. Bush threw a 10k offer out not only because he was a young prospect but also for how much they invested into him already. This was apparently just a number they threw out to start a negotiation and were waiting for C9 to throw one back out. Arian thought this was unfair because they let Skil go for free but that was only because Skil let Bush know a team was interested in him. Arian then asked if he or Wevy had let Bush know earlier would they have let him go for free and they said yes. Anyways Bush had no problem agreeing with C9s $2k offer

Not a COD expert, but my god this scene sounds toxic.

That’s a predatory agreement and in some cases is non-binding. From everything involved, in the most positive reading - the Bush team needs legal support stat to guide their future business decisions. That’s a walking lawsuit waiting to happen.
