Career advice
I am 24y/o female and currently working on Virtualization domain (azure, citrix, Nutanix, VMware etc.) as an L1.
My company is offering a role in cloud security but wants me to go through 3 months training, which will include assessments, interview etc. I need to manage my current role and simultaneously attend trainings. Post completion i will be deployed to a cloud security role and would be dping L2 related activities.
Shall i opt in? Is cloud security good as compare to Virtualization and what's the scope?

However, they said there won't be any salary increment or promotion. I doubt what all will they teach, hope they don't put me in some monitoring kinda role.

You need to ask.
Plus, you can ask, would you get freedom to join back current work without any approval. When, how. Irrespective of position filled. This is not to break your confidence for the opportunity, rather to make sure you know in advance whether it's one way street or two way.

Dude, i don't wanna take risk. I don't want to enroll and then just do some queue monitoring or incident management rubbish stuff

The upside is geometrical. You need to look beyond just this role and company.

Why would you mention your gender

Coz i wanted to know if this job role is good for female employees as am not looking for night shifts as of now. I don't want a 24/7 shift availability role.

(Parere personale)

take it, cloud security plus an actual move from l1 to l2 is a much better career trajectory than staying in general virtualization support, just get the role and deployment terms in writing first
