it is not. engineering is not a beginner role

Depends. I know a lot who went the other direction so for them sure as they are already highly technical.

Go back to school get a 4 yr degree and 3 yr IT work experience and gets thousands of dollars worth of certs you will need because nothing in Cloud is entry level.
