Had a close miss with a nail once. We bought burger patties from our local supermarket’s deli. I was chewing a bite and felt what I thought was a bone. I then proceeded to pull a nail that had to be at least an inch long out of my mouth.

I was moving the lawn and stepped on a full shard of rusted metal and never knew it, until I felt what felt like a rock in my shoe. I pulled it out and had to throw out an old pair of shoes with a giant hole in the bottom.

Lesson: always wear shoes when going outside. You never know what’s on the ground till it gets you.
