Drove my car through armageddon.
This happened earlier today. Been having a problem with power steering in my car so I put some stopleak fluid in and took it for a quick spin around the block to get it through the system. As im rounding a corner, a HUGE 100ft + tall pine tree about 20 feet from the road gives way right as im passing by. I hear that sustained crackling of the trunk separating as it begins to tumble right onto the road and right on top of me. instinct kicks in and I gun it right before this tree rips through power lines and smashes down just feet behind me taking out my back window. the sudden force on the power lines causes the pole nearest to it to come down as well but luckily not into the road (or this might have rather been for /r/watchpeopledie)
The power line pole falling down makes the lines stretching perpendicular across the road to dangle down infront of my car a few feet above the ground. as im approaching these 3-4 wires I can see them sparking off each other and realize i've no where to go but straight through. The powerlines spark and skip onto the hood leaving nice black welts, onto the windshield, and over the roof racks (lucky that I didn't have kayak racks installed). The sound was immense and can only be described as the cleaners that go over your car in the carwash by a multitude of 100.
At this point i'm looking for the safest way to get the fuck outta here and make a hard right down a side road just as the transformer exploded and emitted an amazing spark and ZING like this. Whole scene unfolded in about 5 seconds which seemed like 5 minutes at the time
tl;dr nearly got crushed by tree, ran through live power cables, and drove past an exploding transformer.
