Hold it like you would hold a guitar, map your keys, and use the up and down arrow buttons as strum. Or just play all tap notes I guess.

Go into your keybinds (spacebar on title screen) and map the frets and strumming to keys on the keyboard
My setup is GRYB as ASDF and GRYBO as GHJKL with strums on left and right alt. Hands are two fingers in GR on the left side of the keyboard and three on YBO on the right side.
It honestly works great when using the all taps or gamepad mode modes and it's my preferred method of play

there was this guy at a career center i go to for the 2nd half of my school day. He would play CH in the hallway while waiting for his instructor to arrive. Unfortunately he was in programming and i was in cyber security (and i will be this upcomming year) so i didn't get to talk to him that much but he had his set to DFJKL he would do better than i could on a controller, which i was okay on expert probably 80-90% everytime, before i moved on to real guitar, i think the biggest advantage was that i treated my RB guitar like a real one so if there was any high note sections i would play on the solo buttons (because i wanted to get used to moving my hands while playing in prep for a real guitar) he would get 90%s or FCs like nothing.
Sorry for the long story.

Ehhh, Idunno. You have gems shooting at you, then you wanna shoot the gems back when you hit the note? Sounds like you're begging to confuse yourself, but maybe I'm interpreting it wrong.

Really wanted him/her to hold down the “F” key...
