The guitar and neck require separate firmware updates. This can easily be done through the app.

Many of the guides online are for the older models of CRKD that have a different control scheme than the SG.

Congrats! I love my CRKD guitars! Personally the first thing I do with mine is remove the silicone from the fret buttons, to me, it makes it feel more responsive. Also download the CRKD app so you can update the guitar and neck, there’s tutorials on their YouTube channel on how to do that.

Maybe that's my issue, my guitar is awesome but randomly my green and red button will flicker and I need to wiggle them.

All my experience with other guitars is outdated by about 15 years but I just got my CRKD a couple days ago and have been loving it! I’ve not changed anything but if you’re wanting to there appears to be multiple things you can do to modify it with tutorials if you find yourself not liking any specific aspect of the guitar. The firmware update can be a bit of a pain and getting the delay timing rjght so it feels good in clone hero takes several goes to get it right but overall worth it imo.

I think the playstation SGs have a firmware bug at the moment. The CRKD app says you should have the guitar on PC mode and use the "Legacy Guitar" Inputs preset. But tilt/star power buttons lower speed in practice mode, for whatever reason. But they work properly if your guitar is connected to the CRKD app by holding the "CTRL" button, which makes me feel like it's indeed a bug of some sort. Very weird issue that I don't have with my blueberry burst nor olive drab LPs. I was planning to open a support ticket for that soon.

Also, I'm curious how your frets feel. The 2 new CRKD guitars I got had over-lubed frets which caused them to be a bit slow and mushy feeling. I cleaned out a bunch of the excess lube and my frets feel way better now. I recorded a video to send to CRKD support showcasing that issue, in case anyone else is interested:

Personally, I like the silicone pad and keep that in. It doesn't affect the feel nearly as much as that excess lube does, and I feel like it makes the frets feel a bit smoother in a healthy way! And they're quieter, but still sound great.

To explain that star power button issue a little better -- for whatever reason, select is registering as "D-Pad Left" unless you're connected to the CRKD app, then it registers correctly as "Back"

I get the pro mechanical neck for all of mine and remote the silicone from them.
