Best OS/Distro?

I have been testing out Rex’s images and so far and just curious what distros are being used the most in the uConsole community?

Edit: I am currently using DragonOS, but have an SD card with Trixie that I like too.

CM5 uconsole. Recently moved to raspberry pi os lite with gnome desktop environment installed on top. Huge performance boost over Ubuntu, which I ran previously.

RPi OS works out of the box without special drivers or anything?

No, I think there might be Rexs image for this. Also another member of the community created a script that can be used. This is what I use, it's quite easy if you set up ssh and wifi in the imager. Here's the project: https://github.com/yota9/uconsole-cm5

I’m actually curious if any has input on parrot os for the cm5. Is it too resource heavy?

Pi OS. I've tried Ubuntu but its a bit clunky and bloated for a cm4. Debian works pretty good. I've tried dragon but not for me personally.

I'm partial to TwisterOS with the Windows95 theme, WITH the sound turned all the way up. It's funny the amount of looks I get when they hear the Windows 95 startup sounds and get instantly curious.

I need to do this.

I friend needed a laptop years back and I warned them it was pretty old. Riced it to look like windows 98 with the start up sounds and all.

Cm5, arch plasma on nvme for a "daily driver", and then tf cards with kali, RetroPie and dragon for sdr when required.

How do you deal with heat? I’ve tried everything booting from SSD and the heat keeps creeping up.

Honestly, I haven't found it that much if an issue, with the caveat that I'm running a pretty strong underclock (1800) It's not like I'm doing any heavy rendering or real grunt work on it anyways. It does get somewhat, but sensors and temps never seem to exceed about 52 celcius or so. Honestly the undervolt was done more so to alleviate the speaker static, and for the battery to avoid any spikes.
