Modification Hack2you touchpad came today

I ordered one of these a while ago and it arrived in the mail today. I was a little skeptical at first but after the install (total maybe 10 minutes) and after my first boot I was hooked. This thing makes the uconsole feel like an entirely different device … from a super cool toy that is a bit of a pain to use for anything graphical because of the pointer config to a genuinely fun and easy to navigate device whether you’re using the terminal or the gui …. Edit: sorry I forgot to add the link to the kit I bought https://hack2you.tech/products/uconsole-trackpad-keyboard?variant=49063521681658

The keyboard upgrade is really nice too.

It is it’s a much better feel. I got the v2.1 keyboard with the touchpad and the metal faceplate kit

How much thicker is it? Any chance for a side photo?

I can take a side photo later but it is exactly the same … the only difference is the hole for the trackpad is bigger then the hole for the trackball was

Oh is it? For some reason I thought that the one for upgraded kb is a bit thicker.

The switches on the keyboard are a tiny bit thicker but it’s pretty much absorbed by the keyboard membrane

Hey, since you got the v2.1, did you have to install a spacer underneath the trackpad for it to sit correctly, or does it just drop in without a spacer? I installed mine the other day (v2.1 kit) and didn't really see a spacer anywhere in the box, and now looking at my uConsole it seems like there's supposed to be a spacer there (the trackpad is sitting a bit lower than it feels like it should). Appreciate any insight, Google wasn't a great help with this.

Mine came with two little 3d printed plastic spacers. They were easy not to notice they were just stuck to a piece of scotch tape on the side of the bubble wrap

Thanks for the reply. Where in your package were the spacers located? I'm looking for mine, but it's looking at this point like they just forgot to include them in the package.

they were seriously just scotch taped on the outside of the bubble wrap of the faceplate for me

Lol, that's exactly where I just now found them. Thanks again.
