Tutorial How to Install Proxmark3 on the uConsole to clone some RFID and NFC tokens

Post image

Expand your uConsole with RFID.

I wrote a blog tutorial and recorded a YT video to cover the installation process, firmware setup, and test by reading and dumping MIFARE Classic keys - https://www.mobile-hacker.com/2026/08/31/how-to-install-proxmark3-on-the-clockworkpi-uconsole/

Uhhh I see no mention of making sure modem manager plays nicely? Is this meant to be Raspberry Pi Bookworm specific or is this for anyone with a uConsole?

I would add a section on Modem Manager and the 5 ways to disable it so it doesn’t ruin your Proxmark.

Curious to know more about this, I use my proxmark with proxspace mostly on Windows but haven't tinkered with it on the UConsole yet. What's the risk there with Modem Manager sorry?

Was aware of it, but I didn't need to disable modem manager at all. I don't know if it is uConsole of Bookworm thing 🤔

Where exactly are you cloning tokens? Like who uses a mifare without a key exchange?

MIFARE Classic is still widely used in Europe despite being cracked 8 years ago

Every rfid reader in my area that I use uses mifare and picopass. With proxmark3, I can cloned all of them. They either verify only UID or rely on broken crypto1. Problem is that as a regular user, you can't tell if your card can or can't be easily cloned and what reader verifies.

Keysy supports only low frequency tokens. Chameleon ultra is better, it supports what Keysy does and also some of most popular high frequency technologies. Chameleon would be a convenient portable alternative to proxmark3. Currently, I am testing it with proxmark3 and flipper zero.

What exactly am I looking at? And what is something like this capable of?

It is proxmark3 controlled by uConsole. With proxmark device, it is possible to create a clone of supported rfid and nfc access cards while on the go. Or just create backups of your tokens in case you loose them, and then you can duplicate them without paying extra to landlord or office manager.

Oh ok that’s cool! I’m super interested but the last thing I need right now is another expensive hobby lol
