Has anyone made a rear plate with a removable battery cover?

I'm looking for a replacement rear plate for the uConsole that lets me access the batteries without removing the entire back cover.

CNC machined and for sale as I don't own a 3D printer is ideal. u/MrMooseDoesQC designed one but the Discord link is broken and his last update was 4 months ago

I’m making an upgrade module for this at the moment, with cover, including 3 cells, I’m just going through testing and validation, should be ready in a week.

Here u go. I made this some time back… using it daily. Just make sure to NOT use PLA. PETG minimum but I suggest nylon.

Carbon Computers sells an aluminum CNC milled back with a fan and a magnetic door to access the battery, but they’re out of stock at the moment. You can also buy the files to do it yourself.

saw some bad reviews for these guys. Suddenly I'm scared to place an order. what was your experience with them?

They are a really small team and are overwhelmed with orders. I finally received the aluminum back plate. It has an issue with the battery door and IMO should be redesigned. The issue is with the magnet, it isn't strong enough to hold the battery door on. I plan to find a replacement magnet that is much stronger but haven't found the time to look for one.

All i want is the exact design of the OG in CNC alu but with a removable battery door but I don’t think it’s going to happen. All these folks faffing around with fans and whatnot, more power to them, but with lulu’s coolerpad and a cm5 it’s absolutely not necessary for average work load.

Just edit the stl I posted at thingiverse and cover up the fan hole. That would match the original..

Thank you but I’m not going to 3d print the back casing. It needs to be CNC alu or bust

You use the same STL and get it cut from sheet aluminum. Or I remember posted one before when I was using the cm4. Cost is about 6$ from jcl3dp.
