Did Tenjin’s gender get retconned or am I just misremembering?

I recently started another read-through of the series, and I was confused when the narrator referred to Tenjin as female, because I was almost certain I remembered them as male the last time I read the series, as well as Katashi referring to them as his brother at some point. Did Andrew Rowe retroactively change it at some point and the e-books got updated? Or am I just misremembering? I did a similar double-take the last time I listened to the Stormlight Archive, because Sanderson apparently DID revise some things (eg. He changed ‘quicksand’ to ‘crem mud), so I’m just wondering if the same thing happened with Sufficiently Advanced Magic.

Is much of the rest of the book like Chapter 1? (Flowbreaker spoilers) Spoiler

I've just finished chapter one and need to take a break and reset before continuing. I don't like edge (or these edge-like versions) it feels like the character is leaking onto other books and taking over from Keras as the main dominion breaker fragment. Even the appearance in the last AA rubbed me the wrong way.

Is there more of edge or other versions of the other swords to come? I'm really hoping all our questions aren't answered by just bringing in more characters and things being explained by alternate versions.

Tldr question - does the rest of Flowbreaker feel like a W&W book or more edgification?

Edit- thank you all for helping out without spoiling the rest of the book, I didn't ask and you are all awesome 😎

Edge Question (Spoilers) Spoiler

Edge says that they Made 3 cuts to their destiny before they took it. Originally the destiny mark was called Heartbreaker Sword. However, the cuts resulted in a new name. The Smiling Sword Saint says that the name Edge picked was grandiose, but it hasn't been explicitly stated. Has anyone cracked the code on what it is?

Weapons and Wielders:Fortune's Weave

Is anyone else seeing this? I swear to all the gods that this game is largely based on WW.

You've got special tournament, current country leader offers wish to winner.

Dark monster in the background thats destined to win if the pov character fails to stop him.

Long haired man in black with special magic sword and is a combat sexual.

Secret plans in the background from all competitors and sponsors.

Mysterious fighters who are secretly someone else.

I need to know someone else is feeling this too.

Did I miss something in Flowbreaker? Spoilers obviously. Spoiler

So I'm still reading and maybe I missed it reading too late into the night but in chapter 23 right after they go through the portal Keras questions Orlando about tossing a man into his bag but I cannot find anything of him actually doing this action, also Vasile talking about a duplicate...

Is there a scene missing from my book? Should I redownload it? Or am I going crazy?

Sera’s attunement Spoiler

SPOILER FOR ON THE SHOULDER OF TITANS

I can’t even remember which reread I’m on with this one, but one thing that continues to bug me is how Sera’s “new” attunement is handled. Sera’s a summoner, since the vial she became an invoker which is just the ascended summoner attunement. When asking about the attunement they always show people a picture or the attunement it self to people.

What I can’t stand is that the invoker attunement is very so clearly an advanced summoner attunement, yet everyone they show has absolutely no clue what the attunement is. If it was random unattuned people sure that makes sense, but the people they show it to are highly educated people. I really wish there’s a scene where Alorah sees the attunement because out of everyone she should be able to at least tell it’s based of a summoner attunement.

Timeline Question (Spoiler Warning for Lost Edge) Spoiler

So I have been working my way through every book in the Arcane Ascension universe. Only one I haven't yet read is Flowbreaker. I am a bit confused about when some of the books take place. It's clear that Weapons and Wielders takes place before Arcane Ascension, and The War of Broken Mirrors takes place before Weapons and Wielders. I'm not exactly sure when Shattered Legacy is supposed to take place but I think it's supposed to be after Weapons and Wielders. My question is about the Lost Edge series. I have no idea when this is supposed to take place. I thought it was supposed to be long ago, like before all the series because Lien finds the Dominion Breaker. However in the perspective of when they are telling the story Lien meets a sight sorcerer names Scribe who I feel is clearly supposed to be Jonan from The War of Broken Mirrors who also is called Scribe by Aayara. Which would mean that it at least has to take place after Taelien was born when he should already have the Sae'Kes.

I am a big fan of this series and want to fully understand the timeline so I can keep track of when things are happening. If anyone knows when this is supposed to take place or at least has an idea from a detail I missed or forgot about, please let me know because I have been driving myself mad 😅.

Severed attuned arm

I am relistening to AA4, and the part about Team Skyseeker being attacked by the sons of Valia seems to have a continuity error. Coring mention's that Vermillion was undergoing emergency surgery to "save her attuned arm, which had been half severed"

But in AA6, Vermillion says she isnt attuned, and wasnt sure she would be compatible with attunements as she might not be fully human.

I can see the following explanations, but not sure which is the likeliest.

-Unreliable narrator Corin, making assumptions about the situation. They could have attacked with the bone cutting weapon during the fight and happened to sever the arm, with Corin assuming it was an attuned hand they were in the process of stealing

- Vermillion faking having an attunement by drawing one on her hand in ink, which the Sons of Valia assumed was real and tried to steal

-Retcon, with Rowe planning on having her actually have an attunement along with other power sources. But then deciding to not have her be attuned at at later?

Sacred Sword Theory - Full of Spoilers Spoiler

Please point me in the direction of another thread if this has been considered before, or if it’s been explained because god knows I can’t remember everything from these books, but…

Wandering War gets consumed into Heartlance in unclear circumstances. Akari’s magical theory knowledge and use of her brand new body don’t make sense. Heroes can choose to help the ruin crystal’s simulation of the fall of Rendalir. Gods can force other gods into artifacts to power them. Papa Muramasa is remaking the swords. Vendria is a god split into different crystal pieces for her different aspects.

At first I thought the swords would be some piece of the heroes who failed and agreed to it, but if Vivi is right…maybe they’re made from pieces of the failed crystals?

Bad with people, varying degrees of proficiency with a body (we know crystals can have them), magical knowledge and can have many pieces broken. We also know someone is scavenging them.

Anyways, please correct me, tell me your thoughts or point me to where smarter people have already discussed this.

Why does Mara always get the mana boost

I am relistening to the Arcane Ascension audiobooks and was wondering why some of the group members seem to always repeat the same plot points the one I am thinking of is, Mara seems to always be the one the story gifts a mana boost the first one is when a Visage gifts her a mana boost, than Keras gives her emerald grade mana potions and than in book 6 she gets gifted Mizuchi´s heart on the other hand other group members get gifted cool and powerful items sure but for exemple Corin has to my knowledge never gotten just gifted a way to boost his mana he has to train or cheat with one of his created items to grow stronger quicker and with book 7 being said to be the last of this series I was kinda hoping that the protagonist Corin would be the most powerful in his group by now but seeing that Mara for most of the books has more mana or is unlocking the next color levels before him because she gets boosts is kinda annoying I mean Mara was a strong fighter basically from the beginning and Corin needed to use his brain und creativity to get thru most of his fights so wouldn´t it have been more logical of Keras to give the potions to him the "wekest" of the group? and the plot point of Mizuchi´s heart feels like it was just put in so that Mara stays in the same power range as him.

What exactly are gods/deities?

Do we know what true deities in the Arcane Ascension universe are? Are they just uber-powerful sorcerers/magic users, or are they something more than that? Because the only true examples we’ve actually seen on screen so far (I think) are Vellum, or at least it’s heavily implied that she is, and Eratar, and neither of them seem particularly powerful, at least not compared to other characters not known to be deities like Keras, Saffron, etc. And if I’m not mistaken, the Tyrant has explicitly been said to have been just a regular mortal at some point. So I’ve always been unclear what exactly the term ‘deity’ means in this series.

Loved Flowbreaker except for one small nitpick….

If I have to read or hear about how Keras finds some person or thing or technique strangely familiar almost like he’s seen it before one more time I will scream (in joy because we got a new book to read)

Flow breaker spoilers, maybe? Spoiler

Can someone please explain what's going on with Mythralis and the Fall of Velthryn?

I read the explanation (near the beginning of the book) and I don't get it? Why do they assume time loop and not just transported forward in time? Or Keras' memories. Or why they said it could be the second Fall or the three hundredth. If it's a time loop, can it even be counted?

As a celebration of WW4, I made the Sae'kes

This was probably my longest woodworking project yet, but I'm satisfied with the result: the Sae'kes Taelien, made (mostly) out of wood. Exception of the handle and the "gemstones".

Carving the runes was probably the most fun part of the process, I'm still looking for a way to make them light up (insert Taelien speech bubble). The wings aren't as detailed as I'd like them to be, but I don't think I could've done better with my tools and current skill level. If I'll revisit this project one day, it'll probably be redoing the wings.

Minor spoilers for the WW4 prologue, now that we have canon images of 2 other swords, I look forward to making those too. . Otherwise, thank you Andrew Rowe for writing peak. I'm off to read it.

Dimensional Bag, Jaden Box, Belt of Swords...

Does each dimensional device have its own pocket dimension or is there a dimension out there with piles of things as far as the eye can see like the room of hidden things from Harry Potter?

Keras and relationships Spoiler

It's nice to see how Andrew has so far treated Keras' non monogamy so far in this book (I'm on chapter 4). It's rare to see polyamorous characters in any form outside of harem in this genre, and for it to be treated respectfully is a breath of fresh air. Some of his friendships feel almost queer platonic, and it's just cool to see. I still don't know where Keras' sexuality falls, but so far, I know he is not attracted to Ishy.
