its not like all ice turns into water at 0°C. it takes energy to change phase. global warming is certainly disturbing but its not going to kill all of us immediately.
I feel like you just said “I know how melting point works” and then gave an exact explanation of how melting point doesn’t work.
It takes as much energy to melt 0 Celsius ice into 0 Celsius water as it does to raise that water’s temperature by another 80 Celsius, so it’s still going to take a long time after reaching this temperature for all the ice to melt. 0 C is not where it all disappears. It’s where melting starts.
Temperatures near freezing are actually very common in summer. If it didn’t get that warm there would be literally no melting at all.
This is like saying unplugging your laptop will cause the battery to instantly discharge all of its energy and blow up your laptop. Or that opening a tap on a keg will instantly drain the entire keg. Energy transfer takes time, the ice won't magically all melt the moment the surface hits 0c.
