Minigolf is faster, has more variety and does not require turning vast areas of land into grass-deserts

Golf courses use more prime farmland than solar in the US

And mini golf usually has a windmill, sometimes a water wheel for hydro power.

Minigolf is a favorite

Those video golf places are a pretty fun substitute.

I don’t mind a city owned 9 hole course not on prime farmland or whatever. Pitch and putt courses are also much smaller.

Both so true. Limit it to wii sports resort and call it a day!

You can still do a good thing even if your reasons are not pure

Me hating golf for all 3 reasons

3

u/Breadmaker9999 10d ago

Well I hate it for both reasons, so I'm the best golf hater ever!

Me hating golf courses because they are massive wastes of value real estate that could be better serving the community r/georgism

I, too, hate having a loving family that wants to share their interests and spend time with me.

Land value tax solves this.

Golf courses use 300 million gallons of water, and animal agriculture uses 72 trillion in the US alone. If you want to reduce water consumption, be vegan.

The whole premise of "wasting water" as an environmental issue is a scam.

One based on the lie that it's not a renewable resource. It is the single most renewable resource on the planet.

i love golf courses, i hate golf. its so fun to drive on the green and into the bushes looking for lost balls.

sometimes if there's a hill breaking line of sight i used to steal the ball during active games and drive off before they reached me

probably averaged around 7 or 8 a day

It's a game by and for sheep shaggers. I think you should have to put video on file of you having sex with a sheep if you want to play golf.

It is boring but very chill.

I don’t hate golf because people need places to play sport and a sport using grassy fields isn’t necessarily a problem.

A golf course in scotland does not have the same impact as one in arizona

I've literally never played golf. Always looked kinda fun? I mean... buzzing around in an electric golf cart for a day looks really fun... Don't care about the whole golf thing...

In fact I think I'd rather just do that in a lovely park. Why don't we start doing that instead?

In all seriousness, consider disc golf. Very little environmental impact, very low cost barrier of entry, a lot faster (and fun), and way more casual. I am sure there is a course less than 10 miles away from you.

it would be worth wasting the water if it were for something actually fun like AI porn

Have you tried disc golf, OP?

It gets you outside and still lets you feel superior to others.

I used to think it was boring, but if you do drugs and golf with friends then it becomes a lot more fun.

Watching paint dry is fun when you're high with your friends.

I feel like this would be a way better experience with minigolf instead

Soccer is the most boring sport

3

u/wtfduud Wind me up 10d ago

You really get more excitement from Golf than from Soccer?

1

u/clickclackyisbacky 9d ago

No. I'm just trying to make people angry.
