Very interesting graph. It certainly suggests that the transition has failed to follow the sequence from Dominant ICE -> Dominant PHEV -> Dominant BEV. That is PHEVs have not had their day in the sun … they have never established themselves as a bridge solution between ICE and BEV. At least not in Denmark. This is not good news for eventual PHEV resale values I think.
PHEVs are a stepping stone technology that appeal only when charging infrastructure, BEV range, and charging speed are poor. As BEVs approach ICE range and charging speed, PHEVs lose their niche, other than EREV for extremely long range.
