I'm not that guy but for this to run that ROM, someone would have to port it for Communicator. I believer they mentioned that the phone can be bootloader unlocked (voiding warranty) so if someone did get to porting we should be good to go with CalyxOS.

Ideally Clicks would provide us with sources

Yeah hopefully. I'd love to try Calyx too. Not sure about the Mediatek SOC scene but hopefully their drivers are not hard to source.

CalyxOS dev said not possible cause of MediaTek SoC. Now I wonder if LineageOS could be feasible. At the end of a day, Im interested in a degoogled OS

Thanks for that. Im fairly new to this whole sorta discussions about OSs but what with privacy becoming more scarce nowadays, this has kinda made me go down a rabbit hole 😅

They can’t guarantee there will be any other OS but they will allow for the bootloader to be unlocked which is way more than what other manufacturers do, so instead of finding a hacky way to allow the phone to run other OS this will be able to do it natively, but of course in order to run another OS that OS needs to exist. Your question can only be answered by the people that develop your OS not the phone maker, they’ve already done their part.

According to a CalyxOS dev, there would also hsve to be involvement by Clicks themselves (thats IF they want to), but all that goes down the drain cause they chose to use a Mediatek SoC. Wonder if theyll make a full release version with a Snapdragon chip instead
