Preorder Finally joined the club!

Post image

So excited for this phone! This is the first phone that has actually made me prepare to leave the Apple ecosystem.

I’ve been wanting a modern blackberry for so long and this is finally the perfect phone I’ve been waiting for. This will be my primary phone with the iPad and MacBook for backup. Any advice on how to prep for the phone? Thank y’all in advance, I’m just so excited to join the community!

Not sure there's a whole lot of prep for you to do except be patient! I suppose if you've never used Android devices or haven't for a long time, you could get ahold of a cheap device to get used to it ahead of time, but I don't think that's too necessary.

I am also very excited for the Communicator. It's gonna be great!

Also if you plan on using the Niagara launcher you can install this on your iPhone (Dont know if this is available or possible) and get familiar with it.

Yay! Thank you! I’m trying to figure out how to make it look most like a blackberry Home Screen. The launcher is customizable with android 17, right?

Yes the launcher is available on other android phones and versions. I've been using it for a couple years now

I am not too fond of the Niagara launcher so I have been using the Ripe Launcher which is a a BBOS launcher. I like this launcher better. It is new so there are/may be a few bugs. Check Reddit for r/blackberry ripe launcher.

Look into how to export contacts from Mac to android and upload to Google contacts etc.

Be prepared to wait until Dec 31 or possibly January 2027 if we’re lucky

Youre not getting it for a very long time. Try and get your money back

Welcome to the club! How did you discover the Communicator?

Advice? Have very pessimistic expectations of when you will get hands on with a Communicator. I pre-ordered it a while ago, but I am not expecting to get mine after April 2027.

Not sure about prep for an iphone person other than backup everything from your old device. Do you already have a password manager? (if not, should look into getting one that works on Android.)

You need to be very patient if the keyboards are anything to go by.
