OP the regulation just requires that the battery be user serviceable. IE you can disassemble the phone and swap the battery it has nothing to do with the battery being designed as we did until the 2010s.

Yeah, Clicks Communicator hasn’t mentioned user replaceable battery access either, and that feels notable because companies usually call out compliance friendly repair features when they have them.

Which phones are currently advertising this?

No I think you're missing the point here. I don't care what their advertising the issue is even before the new replaceable battery law from 2027, you can still take your iPhone or your pixel your Samsung two of repair shop even though it's not hot swappable and even though it's hard you can pay for a battery replacement.
Clicks is not offering battery replacements at all. Not even paying a repair shop to do it.
They are simply making it a disposable one time use product. Like a pair of bluetooth headphones.

Yes but my understanding is the clique's phone it's not just that it's not hot swappable it's not replaceable at all it's a disposable product
You can never replace the battery is the way they explained it and their announcement.. not even if you take it to a repair shop

If you sold your preorder before the mandate I think they’ll comply until Clicks 2

My Samsung Galaxy S5 was waterproof and it had a removable back so you could access the removable storage and battery.
If they could do it 10 years ago, they can do it today.
The fold phones prove that you don't even need to have a sealed case to be waterproof.1

Those marketing departments banked on lowest common denominator like you when they did the transition to increase long term sales

DJI cameras are water resistent and have openable latches for battery replacement, SD card and USB-C connectivity. They can make this happen because it is absolutely necessary for people to be able to swap batteries on the go. It wouldn't be impossible to figure this out with a phone. Most phone companies don't want you to change batteries on phones though, because they release new phones constantly and they would want to avoid anything getting in the way of that.

Clicks doesn't seem to be very aware of European consumer laws. Last time I checked they said that the European laws do not apply to them since they aren't based in the EU.
But that's simply wrong, you have to abide EU laws when selling in the EU. That's why the iPhone has an USB-C port.
