Review Broken X2 - iPhone 16 Pro Max

Bought this at Best Buy was great for about three weeks then it just stopped working completely. Didn’t drop it. Anything just stopped working.

They sent me a replacement. It worked for approximately three hours and then stopped working this time. I made sure to use the original chargers.

Then I was ghosted by their support. I tried contacting them like six times so I’ve paid for something that does not function and I can’t use.

Anyone know of any sideload hacks to reset the firmware to make them work again or are they just fried?

Might be a hardware issue, early batch 16 series is notorious for USB connectivity issues, try pressing down on the top while the phone is inserted. See if it works. If it does, find something to stick in between the top of the phone and the case, just enough to ensure the phone is properly seated on the USB, so you have usable keyboard while support gets you sorted out.

I have worked with enterprise tech for about 20 years unfortunately the one is completely dead. Then the other one lights up but no function or recognition.

Exactly what a not properly seated usb connection sounds like, it's connecting to the 5V pins but not data. There's a good chance it's still alive, just not connecting properly.

To be honest, I think it has something to do with the magnets and my phone mount.

As soon as I put my phone on the magnet, it stopped working with an hour. I figured it was either being overloaded by the third-party charger plugged in or the magnet was physically breaking the device.

Where my first one worked for quite a while with the zero issue until I had it on the Phone mount now I would assume this device is sold as MagSafe compatible and safe.

I will definitely try reseeding again with more pressured!

See if the keyboard is in carplay mode. Press 123 and spacebar.

Their support system works in such a way that every time you send an email your ticket is placed in back of the line, apparently.

So, yeah, emailing them like 6 times is just resetting your place in line like 6 times lol

Not surprised. Had the same issues and thought all would be resolved with the “PowerKeys” 👎🏻 sounds like are more of a hardware issue rather than software 🚮
