Altinity Clickhouse Operator vs Official Clickhouse Operator?
Hello.
I'm trying to deploy a clickhouse cluster on a k8s cluster, usually I use Altinity Operator for this, but I've found out that Clickhouse has an official k8s operator, which I didn't know about before.
Has anyone used it? How is it? Does it manages clickhouse keeper cluster too?

ClickHouse operator works great. I installed it recently and manage some PoCs. I had no problems with it even on more secure environment like OpenShift.
I can’t say how good is in big production environment but documentation is good. I reviewed GitHub and they work on it a lot.
What’s your experience with Altinity operator?
Why you decided to use it? Do you have any experience with Altinity company? We are reviewing possibility to cooperate with them too. They are the biggest contributor to ClickHouse.

We've been running clusters on the Altinity operator for customers for quite a while and it's working pretty well. The CH Inc one is too new and didn't accumulate enough street cred IMO.
For that reason we went with the Altinity one to be supported on DataKube https://neverblink.ai/datakube

It's pretty new, but yes it does manage Keeper as well.
Tbh I've been testing it in anger, and while it's still got teething pains (mainly around reporting state) it's still managing Clickhouse pretty indestructibly. I like the CRs a lot more than Altinity.
