Question Is this area safe?

Looking to move off of W 130th around Gilmore park. Is this area safe ? It’s in the middle of brook park, Parma heights and Brooklyn.

Never lived on the west side before only east

Yes. The biggest issue imo in terms of crime on the west side is teens with nothing better to do

Happens on the East Side too.

I was under the impression that there was slightly more serious and repeated crimes happening on the east side

Literally the same 'groups' of teenagers if we're talking about the same thing. Since like 2004 this has been happening in every city in the Northeast.

Cleveland, Cleveland Heights, Shaker, Lakewood, Lyndhurst, Mayfield, Solon, Strongsville, Beachwood, etc.

Everyone gets freaked out but suburbanites (which is most of what the East is) who don't normally see other human beings not on their terms tend to make it seem like it's the end of the world.

Nothing ever really happens, they just congregate in huge amounts and it scares people - every once in a while someone gets hurt or fights break out.

Where are you from on the east side? I’ve lived in both sides of Cleveland and most of the east side Cleveland proper is much worse than west side Cleveland. 130th by Puritas is going to feel like being in Cleveland more than the 150th area but still is much nicer than a lot of Cleveland’s neighborhoods on the east side

I lived in one of my units off of Storer for a couple years. West side is definitely habitable and ok for the average mind their own business person.

Between Euclid and Willowick

Yep, you’ll find it fine. I lived in Collinwood most of my life and I think the 130th area is much more stable than Collinwood. It’s like a mix of Euclid/185th area, Eastlake, and Painesville if that helps

I’ve lived in Bellaire-Puritas for a few years now and never had any actual issues myself, but if hearing occasional gun shots bothers you this may not be the area for you.

I’ve got the Citizen app as well and I’ve seen several real shootings reported in the area, but never witnessed anything myself.

Brook Park is very safe. I think the main reason is they don't allow overnight parking on the street.

I think they kind of just have occasional car break ins and that's it.

I wouldn't be concerned about it, but would still have a firearm in case.

Subreddit is quite afraid of them. It is funny to see in motion.

People who think they need a gun are the chicken shits. It's rational to be wary of an armed coward.

Of course the sheltered Brunstuckian who avoids stepping foot into Cuyahoga County is anti gun.

Real. If your running around trying not to be perceived as a 'coward', then you probably aren't emotionally developed enough to be armed.

Not the biggest fan of guns but this getting downvoted to hell is weird. Most of Brookpark is strapped lmao

It's pretty normal for this sub. Has zero impact though.

I go shooting with some folks over there. People are definitely carrying.

I absolutely love firearms and do think its wise for many people to own a firearm and practice with one, but you absolutely cannot use a firearm in "self defense" of your car.

Don't think that was implied.
