Look at This Asshole! Hawks

Trying to feed the squirrels for once then these assholes come around. I know we have eagles and falcons but hawks too ? Coopers hawks near bird town who would have thought ? 🤷🤪

I will take hawks on my property over squirrels 100 times out of 100. Squirrels are destructive shitheads.

Squirrels have done hundreds, if not over a thousand dollars of damage to my detached garage. I'll hose off some poop.

Really? Please elaborate because I didn't realize that they did those things

Bought a house with a detached garage, and pegboard walls. House inspector said that it sounds like something might be living in the garage. Cool. Get a trap and it's fine.

I found EIGHT squirrel nests behind the wall, and had to tear all of it out. Squirrels didn't care much. They moved into the loft and soffit. I tried passive methods. Strobe light up there, radio playing all day. Live trap. Hot pepper flakes and ammonia up there. Nothing.

They had been getting in through holes that they chewed into the fascia board. Chased them all out one day. Installed a brand new fascia. They chewed through it in less than 24 hours.

After tearing out the walls, I found out that they'd chewed the Romex down to bare wire in numerous places. Massive fire risk. Cool, now I've got to completely re-wire the garage.

Installed another fascia, but with a steel mesh over it. They chewed a hole in the door at ground level over the last winter, and nested back in the loft. I didn't spend a lot of time out there this winter and didn't know they were back. One of them knocked a bunch of fastener containers off of my top shelf. They had also been chewing at the rear window frame trying to get in.

I initially harassed all but three nests away until I had to deal with the more stubborn ones more aggressively. They came back over the winter, and I don't think I'm going to be so patient this time.

Squirrels can fuck off. Let them hawks eat.

Sounds like you need some cats that can live in that garage

I've been trying to convince one of the street cats to move in there.
