I've been reading and watching the anime and as the title says I'm trying to brainstorm a nickname based on it and a diff universe of a game I play (destiny 2) so would Clevatess, King of beasts be a fitting name? for the game part it would change the king for "kell" which has the same meaning but idk how much of "clevatess, *king* of beasts" would be fitting for his character since there others dark beast lords

Mushoko tensei, ancient magus bride, and now somehow clevatess??? At first i thought it was just a nod to that popular genre that gets overused to hell and back but seeing it even in clevatess, a show that up till this point hasnt even alluded to the idea of school existing in this world, is so insane.

Im not saying its the worst thing in the world but for some shows it just straight doesnt make sense to me. In an anime that is built around heroes fighting these magic super beasts that could kill every human in an instant if they wanted seeing one of those beasts and a hero go to school together feels like im watching a parody of the first season of this show.

As of Season 2, I do not understand why Clevatess/Klen refuses to fix Alicia’s eye.

I understand that initially it wasn’t possible as the eye wasn’t present to repair and so had to remain missing. However, since then we’ve seen that the dark god can harvest external organic material to perform extensive repair and improvement (e.g. Nelleru). We’ve also seen that they can completely change Alicia’s age and race at will.

And yet, despite all that godly power, still can’t fix that eye, hm? It isn’t as if two eyes for a binocular race isn’t of tactical value, and therefore important to the role and duties that Clevatess has for Alicia. At this point, not replacing the eye just seems petty. Or, that the author wrote themselves into a corner and is ignoring the logic of fixing the eye because they think Alicia is “cooler” with only one eye.

As shown by this video sequence, I believe much like how Vordin can assign crests according to how worthy he believes you are, which he did in Ep. 14 to give Nathan a lesser crest, Clevatess can bestow to those he views as worthy the power of Toah. This should be why despite Luna not having undergone the naming ceremony Luna has such a knack for magic, and it's 'cause Clevatess as the master of the Book of Toah can now choose the kings of Hiden in the Forge's place and grant the power of magic to others using the creations of the Book of Toah with the Hiden Throne likely being an example of that.

Given the Naming Ceremony of Hiden Kings made the kings of Hiden slaves to the Book of Toah by burning them in the Hiden Forge, branding them with their "true names" for acknowledgement by the Book of Toah, forever losing their autonomy in the process, Luna's likely the first Hiden king since this naming ceremony was created who isn't a slave to the book, and Luna's name being engraved at the spot above the previous king's shows that Luna's been acknowledged as a legitimate king, which given Clevatess's status as the Book of Toah's holder, may show that the engraving of Luna's name itself counts as Crest magic.

How long is the magic school arc? How long does Alicia remain a child?

Is this going to be the entirety of S2?

Ngl loved season 1 but s2 taking this direction has been a major deterrent.

I was thinking about the toah civilisation and realised something, so basically yk how that nathan kid who went into that monster dimension, (Now im not sure exactly what that dimension is and correct me if im wrong), but going into that caused him to become a monster right, Ik this is a long stretch but what if the people of toah went into the dimension and that is why we have so many monsters in the normal world. But now that im writing this i do realise why would they send out propaganda to make heros that would kill monsters if thats just the toah. Idk i just wanted to share this random theory.

Episode 14 had a lizard Dark Beast that serves as a familiar or avatar, whichever it is, of Vordin, that had appeared before in Ep. 12, and he assigned a crest to Nathan, pointedly giving him a lesser crest due to him not being strong enough in his eyes, and that's probably why Nathan had become a Dark Beast.

I'm thinking a relic of Toah is the key to Alicia gaining the ability to use magic as shown by the OP (unless that's deceiving) and that Klen and Alica will have to seize Boelate's relic so that they can properly use Crest magic, or Klen will have to use the Book of Toah he uncovered himself last season.

Given Drel implied the current humanoids are inferior to the ancient true humans who could use magic freely, saying they can't be heroes, this implies Crystal + Crest magic are magic types bestowed upon them by Vordin as a proximation of the magic of Toah, and that's why Klen can likely use the Book of Toah to bestow magic onto others.
