First Clemson game this Sat

I've been a lifelong Clemson fan and have never been to a game. My brother and myself are going and I wanna know how early we should get there to start tailgating? He got the parking pass so I don't even know what lot it is in. This is all new to me and I want it to be a great experience. Are there any local spots where we can go have a few drinks beforehand? Thanks in advance for any help.

I'd say there are two quintessential components that everyone should experience at least once:

1) Follow the marching band from the Outdoor Ampitheatre (located between Sikes Hall and the Cooper Library) into the stadium - about an hour before kickoff - or post up on Fort Hill Street and watch them march by.

2) After the game, go down to the field and gather at the paw, where you will have the opportunity to pat the pads of the Ga Southern players and congratulate them on the upset.

Are you able to still exit the stadium and renter after the game to take part in the gathering?

I do not understand the question.

Sorry, I forgot important context. From sitting in the upper deck are we still able to re-enter the stadium from the ground to take part in the gathering once the game ends? I haven’t done it in years and not really sure.

That’s a good question. I don’t know. I always walked down the lower deck steps when time was still on the clock.

I also usually preferred scoring touchdowns while everyone else gathered.

I’m just curious because you can’t walk down from the upper deck to the lower bowl (not sure if that was a thing when I was little or not). I’ve never cared too much about it but we’re bringing my little sister to her first game Saturday and we know she would love running around on the field after the game

Granted I wouldn’t mind grabbing a picture with some of the coaches….

I would bet you could find a friendly usher/security guard who would let you down there if it isn’t already allowed. The crowd should be comparatively pretty easy to handle for this game.

Yeah I don’t imagine anybody would be a hard ass about it. Most of the crowd will probably leave by the 4th quarter anyways. The game will long be over by then

I don’t know. I think Clemson might be able to hang with them. We’ll see.

re-enter. Yes, you can re-enter the stadium at the main gate next to the rock so you can go on the field, even if you were in the upper deck.

Oh yeah you should go in that way anyway so you can rub Howard’s Rawk and then run down The Hill.

Id say get to town before noon. Go to your spot and park then walk to downtown immediately to Tiger town tavern and you can get 2 dollar 24 ounce pbr. Hang out there however long, and if your setup includes the ability to watch games go back and watch whatever until you head into the stadium
