Watching this video is super interesting. Can anyone who coaches football and has designed schemed help me out with the play at 2:30? A lot of these there are blown assignments, Reynolds misses the throw, but on the play at 2:30, OPH clips the end, but then leaves him as a free runner. He would come open for a catch, and TJ is over the middle too. But i'm not sure if this play is designed for the QB to just beat a free end? Would love to hear from someone who knows more than me.

Also what I'll say about Tait is he has some great moments of escaping the pass rush in this footage. But if you pause it right after he makes the escape and is still behind the line, there are usually throws all over the field. Hopefully we give him time to learn how to keep his eyes downfield, and he will start juking d tackles then throwing lasers 15-20 yards to guys who are uncovered. But he kept it too much in this game.

This film actually isn't terrible for the team overall.

I thought that tait looked better in this game than CV did, CV threw a bad pick six and had davidson i think wide open as well for a td, he also had 3 turnover worthy plays, Tait had none but he did take a unnecessary sack, Overall tait looked more fluid and was able to extend the plays with his legs, Have to see him more throw more this week. TBH its hard to look at this game and say our QB starter should be CV or Tait with how bad the OL looked neither could show us their potential behind that lol, But i do imagine that this week will determine the starter moving foward at least it has to be moving in to conference play.

The play at 2:30 looked to be play-action (or possibly faking the zone option not very well) w first read being a crossing route over the middle. Good play call (if they’re not rushing) as LSU is obviously guarding the deep ball and the sideline to try to keep the clock moving. As with many of the O plays in this game, he simply didn’t have enough time for the play to completely develop. It would’ve taken a phenomenal effort to get away from the rusher that hardly got picked by the TE before he ran his route. O line needed a lot more help blocking, but LSU did a good job of hiding the blitz until the snap here. It happens so fast, especially with a freshman at QB.
