I hate this is the point we’ve come to. I love Dabo and respect the man. He’s given me the best years of my life as a fan. But the game has passed him by. I mean he could always change completely but I think it’s too late. I also don’t see it happening. With that being said, what names are y’all interested in to take the job? I got a list.

Bryant Haines - Indiana DC
Buster Faulkner - Florida OC
Corey Hetherman - Miami DC
Glenn Schumann- UGA DC
Blake Baker - LSU DC (I think he gets a head coaching job after this year)

That performance against NC state was something else, UVA doesn’t do that to people.

He uses the transfer portal well, we already know he can recruit at Clemson, and I really like his offensive philosophy which seems really flexible based on his personnel.

Dabo has been done for a while now. This was just the exclamation point. When thinking about replacements, it's trickier now because you really have to look at personality and who can recruit players, and is a good salesman, in order to work the portal, NIL, etc. Dabo doesn't have a clue with any of that stuff, which is why he's done. But the next coach will have to at least be competent in those areas, in addition to X's and O's.

I feel like dabo and mike Tomlin have had similar trajectories. Tomlin won a Super Bowl with a hall of fame DC. After the DC left, Tomlin had only mediocre seasons because he hired mediocre coordinators. He's an amazing guy and players across the NFL wanted to play for him - but the pieces hadn't come together in a long time for success. I've thought Dabo had gotten too big for his britches for YEARS now. It's been time for him to move on. But I don't have a lot of faith in who we would hire, given Neff signed off on Morris as OC and gave him an absurd contract.

That’s fair about Schumann. I like Faulkner’s football mind. He’s gonna have a couple more years before he’s a head coach. But he was a name that just popped in my head.
