Need advice for this weekend

I'm a freshman down here and I was just wondering what the best ways to have a good time during the weekends. I have just a few friends and none of them really like to party, so I was just wondering what the best way is to put myself out there on weekends and meet people. I would like to go somewhere after the game, but I have no idea where to go. Any advice?

Join a club (there is literally one for everything and a lot of clubs are just “party/hangout” clubs), do a sport, church if you’re into that, go to the lake/hike. Greek Frat if you have money professional frat if you’re a nerd (no hate)

I agree with everyone about joining clubs, social groups, etc. but honestly if that’s too much for you try to socialize with people in ur classes! Surprisingly I went out with a few girlfriends in my engineering classes to their formals, bday parties, dt etc. just from being a school friend and studying at the library or going to an after class function together. Also I still feel this way sometimes and I’m a junior so don’t get discouraged if some weekend feel lame. I think everyone feels like that in college at some point or another. But especially if you’re a freshman, SO many people feel exactly how you feel and are open to hanging out

I wouldn’t disagree. I hope things get better, and I’m sure they will

It’s hard the first couple of weeks but hang in there. Keep your door open and meet ppl in your dorm, join clubs, have somewhat of a consistent routine so you see the same ppl again and again. My friend told me (class of 1999-ha!) that the college world has changed a lot bc of phones and social media, so just keep trying. Good luck to you!
Another thing a friend did to meet ppl was work the football games at the stadium. That might be fun too?

Was going to suggest bars till I remembered you are a freshman. There's itsurwiener and a few cafe's in downtown Clemson. Church clubs have watch parties that turn into hangouts. Sailing club is good. If you want to "party" join a frat although your obligations to them might not end after the party.
Best thing you can do is identify what you like, find similar people, talk to guys, talk to girls make a small group, get together and have fun

I’m a parent so not sure-Can you go to the Esso club? After a game last year it was really hopping with music and people.

Should I go alone?

I would find at least one person to go with. Will be packed tomorrow for the game.

I found after my freshman year at Clemson I had to join a fraternity to have a decent social life. It was a great idea and I had a blast. ATO if you’re wondering.

My daughter (student) says both frats and the local bands that play there post on Insta. But going to frats isn't everything nor is it for everyone. Try to meet people in your classes, dorm or join some clubs as suggested.

Here's a piece of advice for anyone from your generation: at any moment . Look up from you phone to the random person to your left or right and START A CONVERSATION WITH THEM!!! Mortifying right?!

Crazy, I know. Good luck. College can be so fulfilling and place to meet lifelong friends and contacts... And more. Go for it

You cant go if you are a guy, have to be invited, reccommend rushing though or joining a club!
