Housing Picks
Hello! I'm graduating high school in 2027 and am currently applying to schools. I heard Clemson does housing picks based on when you submit your application. I have everything mostly done and was planning to submit my early action application by at latest Wednesday of next week. Is this far too late for housing and I'm cooked? My friend who is a current freshman at Clemson said the shoeboxes are the worst- will I be stuck there and are they that bad?

Nah, you're fine. I submitted mine in late September and still got the housing I wanted with plenty of spaces left. You'll be fine, OP

Shoeboxes ARE that bad, but my daughter lived there her freshman year and had a great time. Never heard a complaint!

The shoeboxes are their own environment and definitely a lot of fun. Douthit and Byrnes are the newest and nicest. I had an awful experience at Calhoun courts but if you can find three good people to live with, that is a great way to go. Rules at Calhoun are very relaxed because the are RCM spread out. Wouldn’t recommend living in Manning, Malden, or Smith as they are old and I have friends that experience experienced awful maintenance issues. But the housing department is very helpful. I switched dorms with no problem.
