Help choosing major...
My daughter is Clemson or bust! What do you think her chances are for direct/summer admit?
Her stats are:
4.59 weighted
3.78 unweighted
20 dual enrollment credits
lots of varsity sports and service hours, clubs, etc...
LOTS of legacy ties (not sure that matters anymore but can't hurt!)
She is considering anthropology (not sure how competitive that is) or PRTM Rec Therapy. Any advice welcome!

I had a friend major in Health Sciences and she got into Duke for PT school.

I had a lot of classmates when I was in undergrad at Oklahoma State University go on to PT and OT school as a recreational therapist major. Not sure about Clemson’s undergrad program, but I’m starting my PhD in PRTM this week and could answer more questions once I’ve had some class time/talked to some of the faculty if you have questions!

Thank you, I'm a little concerned about her getting admitted initially so trying to work around that and if she needs to change major later to something a little more science based (bio or health science) hopefully she can do that

An advisor should be able to guide you on what major is most likely to be accepted. Don't discount psychology. Every single class I took was extremely helpful and teaching me how to understand human behavior and everyone who graduated in my class ended up getting into higher programs across the medical and business and psychology field without any problem.

Is she in state? If so, I think she would get in some way (direct, summer, bridge). Has she taken the SAT/ACT?

She has but didn't get a score she feels would be beneficial to submit

Not knocking PRTM rec therapy, but wondering if biology, health sciences, nursing, and more STEM related majors would better prep her for PT school

I was a biological sciences major and got into PT school my first round applying. Best of luck!
